RULES – PRESENT CONTINUOUS ING

The following is a guide to correct spelling of ing forms and gerunds.

Las siguiente es una guía para la correcta escritura de la forma ING y gerundios
Apply the rules in the right side of the tables

Rules N 1
The general rules when changing a verb into its – ING form is just to add ING to the end of the verb

La regla general cuando cambiamos un verbo en ING es solo añadir ING al final del verbo

Rule N2 (spelling exceptions)

If the verb ends in a E we remove the E and add ING
Si el verbo termina en una E nosotros removemos la E y adherimos ING

Rule N 3(spelling exceptions)

If the verb ends in a cosonant + vowel + consonat we double the final consonat and add ING

Si el verbo termina en una consonante + vocal + consonante nosotros duplicamos la consonante final y
adherimos ING

Rule N 4(spelling exceptions)
If a two syllable verb ends in a consonat + vowel + consonant. We do not double the final consonat
when the stress in on the first syllable.

Si un verbo de dos silabas termina en una consonante + vocal + consonantes nosotros no duplicaremos
la consonante final cuando el estress esta en la primera silaba

But we do not double the final consonat when the ver ends in W, X or Y or when the final syllable is
no emphasized

If the ver ends in IE we change it to ying

If the verb ends in consonat + vowel + L, we normally double the final L and add ING

Am / is / are + doing /eating/running/wirting etc

El verbo to be (am /is /are) + los verbos con la terminación ing Doing, eating……
