HydraFix®: Why do you need it?

Color predictability and print quality depend on the print device, substrate and
output profile. Any deviation of output device or change in production substrate will
introduce color shifts and compromise print quality.
Corrective measures - inkcut, linearization and profiling - are required to bring back
the device into conformance and to print expected colors.
These operations require valuable maintenance time and costly production
interruptions which add up to hundreds of lost hours per year for a production press.

HydraFix®: What is it?

HydraFix® is part of Hydra Profiling®, Alwan’s unique and patented spectral
prediction technology which is available as a (paid) option of AlwanColorHub
(ACH).

Hydra® technology has the unique ability to assess, optimize and build an accurate HYDRA
PROFILING

ICC profile out of a very small number of patches. Less than 100 patches are
necessary to build an accurate 4-color ICC compliant Hydra profile.

HydraFix® makes most paper specific queues as well as inkcut, linearization and
profiling operations an unnecessary waste of maintenance and production time.

HydraFix®: How does it work?

When printed colors are off or before printing on a new substrate, use Alwan ToolBox
(ATB) to:

1. Generate HydraFix® testform that corresponds to your measurement instrument

• ACH will automatically send the testform to your print device
2. Measure HydraFix® chart
• Optional: You can measure HydraCheck® chart to assess current output
conformance
3. ATB will send the updated ICC profile to the relevant ACH queue
• You are done!

HydraFix® will automatically update your substrate inkcut, linearization and color
profile, merge all this information in a new ICC compliant Hydra profile and send this
profile to the chosen ACH color management queue. Your production queue will be
color managed using the updated profile, your production colors will be accurate and
your jobs can be ISO 12647 or G7® certified!
