4 Materials

All materials shall comply with contract specification requirements and approved material
submittals.

5 Sequence of Work

5.1 Refrigerant Pipe Delivery

All refrigerant piping materials prior to delivery at site shall there be already an approved
material submittal.
5.2 Fabrication of hangers and supports
Once there is already an approved material and shop drawings has been already approved,
the fabrication of hangers and supports will follow and implemented at site.

5.3 Refrigerant Pipe Supports

Refrigerant pipe supports as indicated will be installed to provide a minimum space of 1.8 meters
as reflected on the mechanical specification.

 Lay-outing/marking of hangers for refrigerant pipes as per approved shop drawings.

 Fabrication/cutting of hanger rod as to the desired length.
 Installation of hangers and supports in a straightly manner.

5.4 Refrigerant Pipe Installation

 All refrigerant piping prior to installation shall be inspected by the project management team
prior to execution.
 All delivered and stored pipes is to make sure that it is protected from dust, dirt and moisture
by plugging on both ends of pipes with masking tapes.
 Prior to installing and brazing of pipes on its hangers, copper pipes should be tilted to make
sure any possible objects inside be thrown out.
 Before brazing, nitrogen gas shall be blown through the piping to expel air from the piping.
 When brazing, the refrigerant piping, only begin brazing after having carried out nitrogen or
while inserting nitrogen into the refrigerant piping about 3psi gage pressure with a pressure
regulating valve.
 Then, once a system or circuit has been completed, it is now ready for flushing and leak
testing with nitrogen gas.
 On high pressure side it will be tested with 350 psig and 150 psig at low side and will be
maintained for 24 hours and if any leaks found within the period, it must be rectified
immediately.
 These pressure testing shall be witnessed by the Client representative or by the project
management team for the record.
 Once no leak has been found or leak has been rectified, the remaining brazed joints must be
insulated.

6 Safety

6.1. Prior to commencement, all activities shall be coordinated with the project safety officer, who
will assess the associated risks if any, and monitor the implementation of the project safety plan
and liaise with the construction team to ensure a safe working environment.

6.2. The safety officer in charge to ensure that all workers are equipped with their P.P.E throughout
the construction work.

6.3. The safety officer in charge in coordination with the construction manager is to study, organize
and control the traffic flow during the operation of this working procedure.

6.4. The safety officer in charge to organize and conduct necessary periodic toolbox meetings for
supervisory staff and manpower, to ensure the construction team are well aware of safety
requirements.

7. Handling and Storage

7.1 All the materials shall comply with approved Material Submittal Approval.

7.2. The materials and hand tools will be checked properly by storekeeper before issue to site in
good condition.

7.3. The storekeeper will check and issue of all project materials with the material receipt form which
signed by site engineer.

7.4. All project materials will be identified and stored in location with the same type where space
permits. Project materials and equipments in open storage will be adequately covered to
protect it from the weather conditions.
