"Our speaker tonight," says the master of ceremonies, "will outline the five key
steps in rescuing a person who is in danger of drowning. Let me give you a quick
preview of these steps." What mistake is the master of ceremonies making? If you
were the master of ceremonies, what would you say to introduce the speaker?

 The master of ceremonies made a mistake in not properly introducing the speaker. When
someone is invited to deliver a speech in front of the audience, the master of ceremonies
acknowledges the speaker as a mark of respect and introduces the speaker's full name
precisely so that the audience knows who is speaking.
 To conclude the introduction, if I am the master of ceremonies, I will give a warm
welcome to the stage by saying the exact title of the presentation and his or her full name.
Make sure to say their name exactly.

2. You are asked to deliver a eulogy for a co-worker who was always helpful to you but
was known to work as a difficult and argumentative person, should you speak about
work-related problems. Explain your answer.

 If I am in that position, I should not be allowed to discuss work-related issues. You were asked to
give a eulogy speech, so your message is all about the positive. Allow one minute to praise or
acknowledge that person. Recall all of the memories you have shared and highlight the significant
things he or she has done. Even though that person is an argumentative person, I should set aside
the entire argument.
