HYDROPHORE SYSTEM

Compressed air- Compressed air is air kept under a pressure that is greater than atmospheric pressure.

Pressure switch- A pressure switch is a form of switch that operates an electrical contact when a certain
set fluid pressure has been reached on its input. The switch may be designed to make contact either on
pressure rise or on pressure fall.

Pressure gauge- pressure gauge is a sensitive and delicate device which tells us the pressure. Usually use
on pressure line, pump discharge.

Relief valve- A relief valve or pressure relief valve (PRV) is a type of safety valve used to control or limit
the pressure in a system; pressure might otherwise build up and create a process upset, instrument or
equipment failure, or fire. … Once it reaches the valve’s reseating pressure, the valve will close.

Level gauge- is a type of level sensor, i.e., a device used to measure the level of fluids. A magnetic level
gauge includes a “floatable” device that can float both in high and low density fluids.

Pressure tanks- Hydrophore pressure tanks are vessels that hold water and air under pressure. The
function that pressure tank performs is to supply water to the system in booster pump applications. It
can provide water to the system during of a no flow shutdown of the booster pump.
Drain- drains are used to remove water from the tanks which is carried over when the fuel oil is
transferred from the bunker tank to the settling tank.

Bilges- the area on the outer surface of a ship’s hull where the bottom curves to meet the vertical sides.

Pumps- a mechanical device using suction or pressure to raise or move liquids, compress gases, or force
air into inflatable objects such as tires.
