Different contexts of governance

Corporate governance is the system by which companies are directed and controlled.
Board of directors are responsible for the governance of their companies. The
shareholders’ role in governance is to appoint the directors and the auditors and to
satisfy themselves that an appropriate governance structure is in place. It also concerns
the set of rules corporations use to make decisions and take actions. The specific
details of these rules vary between industries, cultures and company size; however,
the principles of corporate governance are often highly consistent regardless of
company size, industry or country of origin. Moreover, examples of good corporate
governance include integrated business management system, ISO certification, CAPA
systems, routine internal audits, risk management, reporting, training management,
supply chain, a documented policy management system.

International Governance is purposeful order that emerges from institutions,

processes, norms, formal agreements, and informal mechanisms that regulate action for
a common good. Global governance encompasses activity at the international,
transnational, and regional levels, and refers to activities in the public and private
sectors that transcend national boundaries. In this conception of global governance,
cooperative action is based on rights and rules that are enforced through a combination
of financial and moral incentives. Here are some of the examples of international
governance United Nations, the International Criminal Court, the World Bank, that offers
developmental assistance to middle and low income. World Health Organization
(WHO), World Trade Organization (WTO), Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

National Governance

Exercise of economic, political and administrative authority to manage a country’s

affairs at all levels. It also comprises processes and institutions, through which citizens
articulate their interests. Also, to have a good governance, it requires effective political
leaders that can enhance our national government. Where it promotes strategic vision
and broad consensus on policies and procedures that are needed to foster peace and
stability.
Here are some of the examples of national governance the ASIA FOUNDATION’s
programs in the Philippines promote better governance to support economic growth,
strengthen the rule of law, and foster peace and development in Mindanao. Building on
a broad network of partners, the Foundation helps government, local NGOs, and the
private sector to strengthen democratic institutions and create sustainable economic
growth.

Local Governance it is a right and capability of a community executed directly in

compliance with the established statutory procedures and through representatives of
local authorities that are not affiliated with the system of state government bodies.
These local government authorities are elected; they represent the interest of the
community and make decisions on its behalf. Here are some of the examples of local
governance when we talk about Batangas we have our Governor and Vice Governor,
when we talk about the congressman, we have two because Lipa City has their own
Congresswoman Vilma Santos and the Batangas itself have a Congressman Sonny P.
Collantes and when talk about my municipality we have our mayor, vice mayor and the
counselors who govern the local government.
