Dear Parents,

Welcome to Podar International School ( Cambridge), Nerul.

While other detailed guidelines will be provided to you in due course, here are a few
of the important ones which are of immediate relevance. Kindly make a note of these:

School Timings and School Transport:-

School starts on Thursday 7th April 2022.


From Grade 6 onwards the school starts at 6:50 am till 1:30 pm
​ Kindly note that on the first day ie.7th April, parents of the new students
availing school transport are required to drop their wards to the school in the
morning and accompany them on the bus at the time of dispersal to enable
the bus staff to confirm the pick-up and drop points.

​ Regular transport service will commence from 8th April 2022.

Students using private vehicles, walkers, and private vans will disperse from
gate no 6 always.

Lunch/Snacks:-

​ Parents are advised to send 2 snack boxes for the 2 breaks. It is advised to not
send packaged snacks like chips.

Identification Cards:-

ID cards will be issued to all the students. ID cards should be worn at all times and
must be presented to any school employee when asked for. Students are expected
to display the ID cards when leaving the campus as well as to gain admission to
school-related functions. Admission will be denied to any student who is unable to
present his/her card. A student who loses his/her ID card needs to pay for a new
one.

When school starts, Students must wear temporary ID cards with details of name,
class, address, and mode of transport until the school issues the permanent card
for the year.
In case of loss of the ID card, or change in address or telephone numbers parents
should immediately contact the Class Teacher so that a new Identity Card can be
provided.

Students Belongings:
● In order to avoid heavy bags, students are requested to carry pouches instead
of pencil boxes, and no trolley bags.
● Students have to bring a thin folder every day for carrying the class
worksheets and hand-outs and keep them handy for future reference.
(Recommendation- subject-wise in the piano folder which has to be kept at
home)
● Textbooks and notebooks should be covered and labeled in cellophane sheets or
transparent plastic covers.
● Please label all the material which is sent with the child. This would
include, Tiffin Boxes, water bottles, napkins, pencil pouches and bags, Art
Kits, Blazers, or any other removable piece of Uniform, Raincoats, etc.
● The students need to bring their rough notebooks for the instructions
given during the first day.
● Please note that tiffin boxes, books, and all other material must be sent to the
students while coming to school in the morning. We do not encourage parents
to visit during classroom time.
● Kindly send 4 passport size photographs of your child in formal school uniform.

Uniform / Dress Code:

Ensure that your child is smartly dressed in school uniform or sports uniform.
Students should adhere to the school’s Dress Code throughout the year. On failure
of this, strict action will be taken.
On 7th April, students should come in their regular uniform.
Students are required to use only a raincoat during the monsoon season. Please
avoid the use of umbrellas. Please label your child’s raincoat with Name and
Grade to avoid chaos during the monsoon season. Students will be allowed to
wear floaters during the monsoon months.

P.E Uniform and Formal Uniform days


P.E uniforms must be worn on the days students have their P.E. and Activity periods.
On the rest of the days, students should come to school in formal uniform.
Between-Us Portal

Between Us Portal is a parent-school Communication website as well as a


mobile app. It will help to pay fees, view academic resources, receive circulars
and announcements, etc.

● Parents must regularly check the ‘Between-Us Portal’ for the daily schedule.
● Time table will be sent through the ‘Between-Us Portal’ on the first day (7 th April)
and the books must be sent to school according to the day-wise timetable every
day.

Guidelines for meeting with the School Authorities / contacting us online:

● Parents may meet the Principal, Coordinator, and teachers with prior
appointments only. An appointment to meet a teacher should be taken at least
two days prior through the between-us portal.
● Appointments with the teachers are allowed only on the following days.

Wednesday: 2:15 pm to 3:00 pm


Working Saturdays: 8:00 am to 11:30 am

In an emergency, a phone call at 022-27727731 to the office can be made to seek an


appointment.

Parents are expected to wear presentable clothes and to maintain decorum in their
communication with staff members. Parents in Shorts or Chappals will not be
allowed in the school.

General Information

Hobby activities will be conducted every Thursday from June 2022 onwards and a
consent form will be sent to parents for selection. Activity once chosen will not be
changed.

Celebration Policy

● Distribution of gifts or cutting a cake on your child’s birthday / any other


occasion is not allowed. Only chocolates/fruits are allowed.
● No Gifts for the teachers on any of the occasions.
A common objective is to enable your child to realize his/her full potential.

For this, we would need to work together - seamlessly! The more you understand our
philosophy and our methodology, the more empowering your communication to the
child will be.
