Introduction
The aim of this report is to recommend ways for
improving the multimedia centre at Highford Academy
and outline where saving can be made. The
recommendations are based on the opinions of students
that completed a questionnaire.
The opinions of students
All students completed a questionnaire in order to
investigate their opinions of the school equipment and
their suggestions for improving the multimedia centre.
The majority responded that they need a lot more high
quality computers and desktops, because they are
limited in quantity. Furthermore, they need assistance
for using the computers, because a lot of people can not
understand how to use it.
Recommendations
I would recommend to take in consideration the
suggestions and the complaints of the students. Firstly,
the most important thing are the computers and
desktops. There should be high quality and to have
programmes that are used by students to prepare their
schoolwork. As well as computers, it is mandatory to
have in the multimedia centre perfect and fast internet
connection in order to find resources and exercises on
the Internet. Also, there should be assistants that could
help people with the use of computers in order to
prevent the new computers of damages. Finally, they
need basic supplies for doing school work, for instance
headphones, DVD’s, printers, etc.
Savings
Certainly it is important to save money too. My
suggestion is to not hire professional IT specialists to
help the students. The IT teachers should be responsible
for that. In this way, there will not be wasted money on
specialists.
