Introduction
Badminton is a racquet sport in which players hit a shuttlecock through a net using racquets.
The most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles"
(with two players per side) (with two players per side). Badminton is frequently played as a
casual outdoor sport in a yard or on the beach, with serious games taking place on a rectangular
indoor court.
Mission
The main mission of this Badminton Tournament is to promote sports at Sunway International
Business School, by building good relationship between the students and the staffs. The
mission to organize this event is to give students a chance to play badminton, to develop and
enhance their abilities, and to prepare them to compete in a badminton tournament.
Objective
The tournament's objectives are:
• To provide students and staff with a break from work and studies by continuing to
arrange this game frequently within sessions.
• To provide students with safe, supervised, and responsible entertainment that has a
positive influence.
• To build sportsmanship among the participants, volunteers and staffs.
Type of Event
The event is an intra-college badminton tournament. Students from all semesters, including
from both BCS and MBA, will compete in this event, which will be conducted on the same
day. College employees will also participate in the tournament. Each participant will be
charged Rs. 100 for registration.
There will be singles tournament separate for boys and girls. There will be knockout session
until quarter-finals and for semi-finals and finals, there will be “Best of 3” session.
Budget
Cost Estimation
We are expecting participation of 100 to 120 students including all the students from BCA,
MBA, and staffs. Our estimation is to complete the tournament in 1 day so it requires two
court. The budget allocation for the badminton tournament according to our expectation is:
Sponsorship
We have two types of sponsorship available where the sponsor has following terms and
benefits:
Title Sponsor
• You will be providing us sponsorship in following items: venue, trophy, certificate,
badminton racquet set, and badminton shuttle cock.
• You will have your name before the tournament title. For example: XYZ Badminton
Tournament.
• Your name and logo will be included in all the banners, flex, trophies, and certificates.
• Attractive Token of love will be provided in recognition of your involvement and
support.
Health Partner
• You will be providing us sponsorship in first aid kits along with a health professional
standby during the event.
• You will be named Health Partner.
• Your name and logo will be included in banners, flex, and certificate.
• Attractive Token of love will be provided in recognition of your involvement and
support.
Other sources
• We will have food sponsors, refreshment sponsors, and stationary/flex sponsors.
• We will be collecting registration fee Rs. 100 from every participant.
Previous Tournaments
These are the glimpse of badminton tournament that was organized in 2019.
Tournament Rules
• Game will be a singles tournament.
• Each game will be of 21 match points.
• The players should change their court side when either player reach 10 points.
• The game will be strictly played with standard court dimensions.
• The referee decision will be the final decision.
Players Rules
• The players should be on the venue prior 30 minutes on maximum.
• The players should complete their registration process before warming up.
• The players should be properly dressed. Dressing hard and uncomfortable clothes can
lead to disqualification.
• The players must follow basic rules of the badminton game and play accordingly.
• Players are requested to bring their own racquet if possible. Racquet will be provided
but players should not complain about the given racquet.
• Any aggressive behavior won’t be tolerated. These types of behavior can lead to
disqualification.
• Player must be available on the play-court during their turn. If they are not available
for maximum of 3 minutes, the opponent will automatically be promoted to next round.

Venue Layout
The players will be playing in the venue with following layout of Dhanyentari Badminton
Court.
Conclusion
The primary goal of this tournament is entertainment. Besides, the goals are to create personal
relationship between all the students & staff, showcase professional skills and leadership
capabilities during the event. The event, badminton tournament will be held on May 1st, 2020.
