→ set THR LVR to MAX given clearance to descent at the TOD. For a standard
@ VR 3° glidepath approach, make sure you are not
→ Rotate slowly to max. 10° Pitch significantly higher at a given point than the elevationof
typical VR20 130 – 180 KIAS (dep. on weight) the destination plus a 1.000ft per 3 NM to go. Example:
@ postive V/S If you have 21 NM to go, destination is at sea level and
→ retract LANDING GEAR you are at an altitude of 12.000 ft, than you are way too
→ set pitch to 15-20° high. you should be around 7.000 ft.
→ Initial Climb min. @ V2+10 (~180-200 KIAS) Sinkrate for 3° Glidepath equals 5 * Ground Speed!
→ retract Flaps to 5° @ ~ 180 - 200 KIAS
@ Thrust reduction altitude (1.500 ft AGL) ILS Frequency...............................................CHEK SET
→ lower pitch to 10 ° to accelerate FMC APPROACH PAGE.......................CHECK 4 VREF
→ autothrust should kick in and reduce thrust
(engage A/THR/SPD, if not) @10.000 ft / FL100
→ retract Flaps to 1° @ ~ 220 KIAS Landing Lights............................................................ON
→ accelerate to 250 KIAS Passenger Signs................................................AS REQ

<10.000 ft 250 KIAS / max. 3.800 fpm elevation or use proper procedure altitudes
10.000 – 20.000 ft 280-340 KIAS / 2.200 fpm
FL200 – FL260 2.000 – 1.500 fpm @ ~ 20 NM to go
FL260-FL350 1.500 – 400 fpm → start to slow down
→ set FLAPS 2 (5°) @ 220 KIAS
@TRANSITION Altitude → set FLAPS 3 (10°) @ 200 KIAS
Altimeter............................................................SET STD → set FLAPS 4 (20°) @ 180 KIAS
→ try to capture Glideslope with ~ 170 KIAS
@10.000 ft / FL100
Landing & Taxi Lights................................................OFF @ Glideslope Capture

→ set FLAPS 5 (25 °)
CRUISE
→ lower LANDING GEAR
Check and monitor the flightplan. Check STAR and → set FLAPS FULL (30°)
APPROACH altitude contraints and compare to actual
charts. Check RAD/NAV ILS frequency and compare try to be in full landing config latest @ ~ 3 NM to go
with actual charts. Estimate your TOD based on your
Cruise FL and compare to actual TOD. Descend should @ ~3 NM to go or ~ 1.000 ft RA
begin aprroximately at a distance of 10 NM plus 3 NM Landing Gear......................................CHECK 3 GREEN
per 1.000 ft above destinations runway elevation (For Flaps..........................................................CHECK FULL
Beginners Altitude/1.000 times 4 NM). If ATC is not Ground Spoilers..........................................CHECK ARM
giving you clearance to descent shortly (3-5 Minutes) Auto Brakes.................................................CHECK SET
after your TOD, then the STAR or APPROACH is very → disengage AP and A/THR
likely just broken. Start to descent then anyways. Set THR LVL beforehand to avoid engine spooling!
Sinkrate for 3° Glideslope equals 5 * Ground Speed!
Typical Cruising Altitude..........................FL280 – FL350
at higher weights use "step climbs" @ ~ 50 ft RA
Typical Cruising Speed.......................MACH 0.80 – 0.85 → slowly retard THR LVR to IDLE
Max. Cruising Speed...................................MACH 0.855 @ ~ 10 - 20 ft
→ slowly flare

→ set THR LVR to REVERSE (until 80 Kts)
