PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS (DPWH) THE CONSTRUCTION OF
DRAINAGE SYSTEM AND REHABILITATION OF OPEN CANAL OF MANUEL
LUIS QUEZON STREET FROM SUCAT TO TUNASAN ALONG THE PNR

WHEREAS, the General Welfare Clause of Republic ct 716C, ctherwise

knorrn as the New Local Government Code of 1991, mandates that, "the local
governrnent unit shall ensure and support the safety of its inhabitants,
consequently, public works of national government should coincide with
the program and plans benefiting its citizens";

WHEREAS, a laudable project of the Department of Public Works and

Hignways (DPWH) is the rehabilitation, maintenance and improrrements of all
& national rcads in the whole country, especially in our city which shall contribute to
better travel of both rnotorists and commuters coming from Muntinlupa to any

point of CALABARZON and Metro Manila and vice versa;

WHEREAS, on 23'd day of April, 2012, the 6th Sangguniang Parrlungsod

ofi\4untinlupa, approved Resolution No. 12-183, entitled, "A Resolution

Under Certain Conditions And Favorably Endorsing The Same To The

WHEREAS, during heavy rains and typhoons those areas along the
Nationai Road, in both sides of the Philippines National Railways (PNR), low

WHEREAS, the proposed drainage systems and rehabilitation of open

canals along Manuel Luis Quezon Street from Sucat to Tunasan along the

Philippine National Railways (PNR) Right-Of-Way covers the all eight (8)
Barangays in Muntinlupa City;

w NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED,

by the 7th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Muntinlupa, to request the Hon.
Congressman Rodolfo G. Biazon to include in his projects thru the Department
of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) the construction of drainage system

/! and rehabilitation of open canal of Manuel Luis Quezon Street from Sucat to
Tunasan along the PNR Right Of Way, Muntinlupa City.

h RESOLVED FINALLY, that location plan, detailed estimates and other

documents needed to be submitted to the Department of Public Works and
Highways (DPWH) and other concerned departments to facilitate the
processing of the proposed projects shall be prepared by the City Government
of Muntinlupa and be coursed through the Office of Congressman Rodolfo
G. Biazon;

ADOPTED, by the 7th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Muntinlupa this 6th day

of April, 2015, on its 76th Regular Session.
