MARK 5:21-43

JESUS HEALED A WOMAN AND RAISED A GIRL

As Jesus crossed the lake,

A crowd gathered around him
Jairus, one of the synagogue leaders
came to Him and fell to his feet
He cried to him about his
daughter’s condition
and wants Jesus to come to his house
to heal her with His touch

Jesus followed him

As they paved their way toward the house
A large crowd pressed around Jesus
Among the crowd, was a woman
Who has suffered from bleeding
for twelve years

All her efforts and resources have gone to waste

With her condition getting worse instead
She then went to touch Jesus
With her heart set with hope that she will be healed

After she came contact with Jesus,

She felt her bleeding stop, and her
Body free from suffering
 By this, Jesus felt the withdrawal of power
from what has happened
And led him to ask, “Who touched my clothes?”
with the huge crowd surrounding them, his disciples had
no definite answer to this question
Therefore, Jesus kept looking around

The woman, trembling in fear

admitted to what she has done
Jesus says to her,
“Daughter, it is your faith that healed you
Go in peace and be free from your suffering”

While Jesus was speaking,

one of the synagogue leaders,
approached their group and
announced that the daughter was dead, and
asking for help from Jesus would be useless

Overhearing this, Jesus assured the father

and told him to believe
Jesus did not let anyone follow him,
except for Peter, James and John

When they arrived at the house,

They were able to witness the grief of the loved ones,
However, Jesus spoke that the child was just asleep and not dead
Together with the child’s parents,
Jesus touched the child and mumbled
Talitha kuum
Which translates that the child wake up

The girl woke from her sleep

And got up to her parents
Jesus asked for the girl to be fed
And whatever they witnessed
must be among themselves only.
