Weekly Learning Activity Sheets Illustrating SAS, ASA and SSS Congruence Postulates
Learning Objectives:
States and applies SAS, ASA and SSS Congruence Postulate to check if pairs of
triangles are congruent.
Evaluates pairs of triangles whether congruent or not using SAS, ASA, and SSS
Congruence Postulates.
Solves real life situations applying congruence postulates.
Key Concepts
Congruent triangles are triangles with identical sides and angles. The three
sides of one are exactly equal in measure to the three sides of another. The three
angles of one are each the same angle as the other.
However, to determine whether two triangles are congruent or not, here are some
postulates to help identify triangle congruence.

Reflection:
Look for any triangular objects at home or in your locality. For each pair of
figures, identify which of them are congruent triangles. Justify why these triangles are
congruent by SAS, ASA, SSS.

Answer:
The figure above indicates that AB is congruent to DB , from the tick marks shown. BC
is congruent to itself by reflexive property. And since it is also given that angle ABC is
congruent to angle DBC, and these are included angles of the two congruent sides, thus
by SAS postulate, ΔABC ≅ ΔDBC.
