A nice place to work
This is a nice place to work. This office is beautiful. I am a good
secretary, so I think I will get the job.
I have an old car; so I do not need to take the bus. My car is not
very fast but buses are uncomfortable.
The interviewer is very polite. I hope my boss is nice too. Well, first
of all; I hope to get the job.
Places to work
Here you have some places to work. Decide which are nice and which aren’t. You can use the
following phrases to start your sentences:
About me
By day I’m a regular guy and by night a superhero … How tiring is that?! Just joking! I’m a
regular guy all the time, good job, close to my family, and with a cat. Actually, my cat thinks
I’m a hero because I saved her from the street. I’m a talkative person and I believe
communication is the most important thing in a relationship.
Likes and dislikes
I love pizza if it’s Italian, wine if it’s white, and football if it’s the World Cup. I read a lot,
especially true-life stories, but most of my books live on my phone.
Hobbies
I love to travel and I’m always planning my next trip. I prefer an active holiday like swimming
or playing sports. I get bored at the beach. I post lots of photos on Instagram as I’m a good
photographer.
Tips for a successful personal profile
1. Mention your good points, not your bad points.
2. Don’t include every single thing. Choose a few points
and focus on them.
3. Don’t add your contact details (e.g. address, phone
number). You could get unwanted messages.
4. Check your spelling and punctuation before you post.
5. You can use punctuation and emojis when you’re
joking, e.g. ?! ☺

1. What is the man’s name? 2. Where is he originally from?
a) Gary a) Colorado
b) Greg b) Arizona
c) Craig c) Arkansas
Hi. My name’s Greg, and I’m originally from Denver, Colorado, but my
family moved to Arizona when I was about 3, so I grew up there. I
graduated from high school about three years ago, and I
am currently attending a university in my city. I’m a junior, and I
am majoring in economics with a minor in Spanish. I also work part time as
a cashier at a grocery store. Life is really busy, but I enjoy hiking, reading,
and hanging out with friends in my free time. When I graduate, I want to
work for a company in this area.
