INTRODUCTION:

Shaher United Trading and contracting Company (SUTC) has begun its humble beginning in
2004 to meet the growing demands of electrical power in the Oil, Gas, Refineries,
Petrochemicals and private sectors in the Sultanate of Oman. Ever since the company has
grown into a leading Omani Company in the Sultanate of Oman.

Since inception SUTC has been growing vertically by increasing its expertise in this field as
well horizontally by romping in for latest technology and new products to its portfolio in order
to cater to the broader needs of its increasing clients in the field of Construction, operation
and maintenance. It has been developing competence and services of providing complete
solutions for any type of complex problem in control, operation and maintenance of electrical
power.

SUTC fourfold growths in terms of turnover, over a period of 18 years is a testimony to its
increased customer confidence in it. SUTC is actively involved in the area of providing
construction and Maintenance services of transmission and distribution of Electrical power
and Sub Station to Oil & Gas companies and private sector as well.

SUTC has its Crusher, batching Plant and Asphalt division and are in operation at Shaleem
close to PDO concessional area near Nimr to feed the requirement of best quality of Asphalt,
Aggregate, and Sands to our esteemed customers Douglus OHI, Al Hassan Engineering,
Arabian Industries and Power tech for the construction of Road and buildings.

CONDITION MONITORING FOR INTEGRITY OF POWER SYSTEM:

Thermography Inspection of Indoor and outdoor of Electrical Equipment’s (HV

& LV) by infrared Camera. The purpose of the job is to inspect the condition of
all Electrical connections in 132/66/33/11/6.6 & 415V Overhead & substation
Electrical equipments like Overhead line, Switch yard, Rotating & Static
equipments. The outcome of thermoscan inspection is to identify the faulty
connections in the initial stage, reason or the cause of the fault and the
recommendation to rectify the defect. This inspection shall cover Overhead
lines, Cable connections, Circuit Breaker, Current Transformer, Voltage
Transformer, PMR’s, Isolators, Bus Bar Joints, Transformer Bushing, LV
Connections, Battery Charger & UPS connection, Motors as per the Oil & Gas
standard requirement and in accordance with PDO procedure (MCP’s). Report
shall be prepared after completion of Thermoscan inspection for each Feeder,
Field and Substation as per the approved/agreed format and shall be
submitted to concerned department.

Corona inspection of 132,66,33 & 11KV OHL and Substation outdoor

Equipment’s. The purpose of the job is to inspect the condition of Electrical
Equipment Insulation in 132/66/33kV Overhead & substation Electrical
equipments like Overhead line, Switch yard equipments. The outcome of
Corona inspection is to identify the Electrical Discharge in the initial stage,
reason or the cause of the discharge and the recommendation to rectify the
defect. This inspection shall cover Overhead line insulators, Cable termination,
Curcuit Breaker, Current Transformer, Voltage Transformer bushings, PMR
bushing, PMR VT’s, Bus Bar support insulators, Transformer Bushing as per the
Oil & Gas standard requirement and in accordance with PDO procedure
(MCP’s). Report shall be prepared after completion of inspection for each
Feeder, Field and Substation as per the approved/agreed format and shall be
submitted to concerned department.

Partial discharge of all electrical Equipment’s. The purpose of the job is to test
the presence & level of partial discharge activities in 6.6/11/33/132kV Switch
Gear Panels & Cable Termination. The outcome of partial discharge test is to
identify the presence & level of partial discharge activities in the initial stage,
reason or the cause of the discharge and the recommendation to rectify the
defect. This Test shall cover High & medium voltage switch gear panels, HV
Cables as per the Oil & Gas standard requirement and in accordance with
PDO procedure (MCP’s). Report shall be prepared after completion of test for
each Switch Gear Panels and Cables as per the approved/agreed format and
shall be submitted to concerned department.

CONDITION MONITORING FOR INTEGRITY OF POWER SYSTEM:

Testing of Transformer oil (BDV, water content, acid, Furan, IFT, DP, Color, PCP,
DGA & particle count)

Calibration Test on Protection Scheme (Non-intrusive predictive maintenance)

POWER STATION & SUBSTATION INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES:

The purpose of this activity is to visually inspect the station / facility for
abnormality, equipment status & condition, taking readings including station /
facility boundaries / fence, Gates, Building, Lighting, Air Conditioner, CRP Panels,
Battery Charger, LV Switch Board, HV Switch board, Earthing, Switch Yard
equipments as per the Oil & Gas standard requirement and in accordance with
PDO procedure (MCP’s). Report shall be prepared after completion of inspection
for each Substation as per the approved/agreed format and shall be submitted to
concerned department.

3M BATTERY MAINTENANCE:

The purpose of this activity is to visually inspect the station / facility for abnormality,
equipment status & condition, taking readings including station / facility

3Y BATTERYCHARGER / UPS MAINTENANCE

The purpose of this activity is to do Maintenance & Efficiency check (Autonomy

Time) of DC or AC UPS System in the Substation / Power Station. The Maintenance
includes, Discharge Test by doing load test as per the Oil & Gas standard
requirement and in accordance with PDO procedure (MCP’s). Report shall be
prepared after completion of maintenance for each battery Charger / UPS System
as per the approved/agreed format and shall be submitted to concerned
department.

2M EARTHING MAINTENANCE:

The purpose of this activity is to do Maintenance of complete Station Earthing

System as per the Oil & Gas standard requirement and in accordance with PDO
procedure (MCP’s). Report shall be prepared after completion of maintenance for
each Substation as per the approved/agreed format and shall be submitted to
concerned department.

SMOKE DETECTOR AND FIRE SYSTEM MAINTENANCE:

The purpose of this activity is to do Maintenance of Smoke detectors & it’s control
panel in the Substation as per the Oil & Gas standard requirement and in
accordance with PDO procedure (MCP’s). Report shall be prepared after
completion of maintenance for each Substation as per the approved/agreed
format and shall be submitted to concerned department.

LIVE LINE WASHING ACTIVITIES OF 132, 33, 11 KV OHL INSULATORS:

The purpose of this activity is to do Cleaning & Maintenance of of High Voltage

Suspension & Tension Insulators in the Overhead Power Transmission Lines, Switch
Yard Equipment Insulators (CT, VT, Isolator, Circuit Breaker, Surge Arrester, Post
Insulators & Transformer Bushings) by using low conductivity De-ionized water as
per the Oil & Gas standard requirement and in accordance with PDO procedure
(MCP’s). Report shall be prepared after completion of maintenance for each
Feeder / Substation as per the approved/agreed format and shall be submitted to
concerned department.

132,33,11 KV OHL VISUAL INSPECTION ACTIVITIES:

The purpose of the job is to inspect the condition of the Wooden & concrete Poles,
Structure, Cross arm, Conductor, Insulator, Cable Termination, AB Switch, Surge
Arrester, Isolator, Pole Mounted Re-closer, VT, Stay Wire, Earthing System, Line
Identification plate, Guard Poles arrangements & access road as per the Oil & Gas
standard requirement and in accordance with PDO procedure (MCP’s). Report shall
be prepared after completion of Overhead line Visual inspection for each Feeder /
Field as per the approved/agreed format and shall be submitted to concerned
department.
