Proposed Title: R.

H Angeles Farm Security Plan and Implementation

Company Background

The CAPSTONE Proponents chose R.H. Angeles Farm as the target

company. Located at Barangay San Isidro Norte, Sto. Tomas, the poultry farm
measures at approximately 1 hectare of land. It is composed of 11
houses(chicken coops), each house is measured at 100ft x 25ft = 2,500 sq,ft,
managed by 1 poultry manager and 6 employees. The employees handle an
estimate of 30,000 chickens with 2,500 of the livestock (chickens) residing in
each house. The farm is under contractual business with the company Cargill
Joy, thus making them their main customer.

Technology

For their business processes, the poultry farm is currently not using any
softwares and technology. Doing inventories and gathering of data is currently
done by manually recording in a data sheet and storing them in a cabinet. There
are no computers and internet connection in the farm.

Monitoring of Livestock

In terms of monitoring and incident reaction, the flockman monitors the

chickens from 4 a.m in the morning until 7 pm at night. The flockman calls the
manager in case of accidents so the manager can be informed and take
immidiate action. For every 2 chicken coops there's 1 flockman that monitors it.
The Employees are all onsite in the farm since they are stay-ins. In the case of a
mortality, the flockman removes the corpse and throws it in a mortality pit. A
veterinarian that is provided by Cargill Joy visits the farm every week.

Business Process

The contractor (Cargill joy) delivers the chicks depending on the cleaning
period of the farm around 1-2 weeks. During the Day-Old Chick Loading, the
contractor will deliver 1 truck containing 30,000 chicks. The inventory of the
livestock is done by counting the crates which housed a specific number of
chicks. It is harvested every 30 Days where the chicken weighs around 1.5 to 1.8
kilo. During Harvesting, the owner/poultry manager monitors every chicken that
will be loaded to the truck. There are 13 trucks that will arrive in the farm to
collect the chickens. Each truck contains 320 crates with 7 chickens each,
totalling 2,240 chickens. After the harvesting, the farm will undergo a cleaning
and sanitation period.

Problem
● There is no 24/7 surveillance inside the farm.
● Data sheets are done manually and stored in a single location.
● Wild animals can still trespass in the farm through the fences.
● There is a need to have proper monitoring/surveillance, in the day-day
activities of the farm. From the delivering of feeds, chicks, and veterinary
services.
● There is no internet/wifi connection in the farm

Proposal

● Provide a network of CCTVs, equipped with night visions, (surveillance tools) in

different areas of the farm to help in monitoring the livestocks and activities
inside the farm. This will also improve the response time in case of
accidents.
● Setup a hybrid cloud storage where cctv recordings are uploaded on a
(hourly, daily basis) while adding a long Range wifi Extender and a DVR.
● Design a physical security plan (policies and regulations) for the manager
and employees in the farm to reduce risk of an incident and keep
employees coordinated with proper procedures.
● Improve the farm’s physical security (locks, secured doors for storage units
and chicken coops).
● Design an application that will house a warning system that will notify the
employees in case a problem occurred.
● Use a motion light detector to see significantly better at night when a
predator approaches.
