ASSESSMENT 6.1
1. Enumerate 5 IoT devices and discuss what smart abilities they have.
CONNECTED APPLIANCES
They play a very great deal to us in every household because it can only be operate
through an application.
When an appliance is connected to a central system and can be programmed or controlled
remotely or function autonomously based on input from sensors that detect temperature, light
levels, or activity, it is referred to as a smart appliance. Have the ability to connect to devices
using your in-home Wi-Fi. The benefit of these appliances is being able to operate your
appliance through an app on your smart phone and smart home electronics like Amazon Echo
and Google Home.

AUTONOMOUS FARMING EQUIPMENT

Autonomous tractors utilize a lot of advanced systems and sensors that an efficient self-
driving vehicle would possess. In countries such as the U.S., autonomous tractors hold auto-
steering systems which provides superior control even in the low-visibility conditions.
But the ultimate goal is to offer growers driverless equipment that is smart—or autonomous—
so they can perform tasks without human intervention. ... In other words, the driverless tractor
would act as its own operator.
They play a very great deal to every farmers because it helps them to lessen the work they do.
They no longer consume their time on the farm doing some stuff that can autonomous farming
equipment can do.

WEARABLE HEALTH MONITORS

Wearable technology in healthcare includes electronic devices that consumers can wear,
like Fitbits and smartwatches, and are designed to collect the data of users' personal health
and exercise. These devices can even send a user's health information to a doctor or other
healthcare professional in real time.
Patient monitoring, surveillance, screening, diagnosis, and therapy, post-treatment, and
continuous management can all be done with wearable devices. These gadgets also use real-
time physiological input to determine and validate therapy efficacy.

WIRELESS INVENTORY TRACKER

Inventories tracking refers to the process of a company regularly monitoring all of its
inventory. Raw resources, unfinished commodities, and ready-to-sell things are the most
popular definitions of inventory. You can see your exact inventory levels, the location of each
item or SKU, updated delivery statuses, and other inventory-related data using inventory
tracking. Every place of business that interacts with inventory has inventory tracking:
manufacturing and production firms, warehouses, retail stores, and so on.

SMART HOME SECURITY SYSTEM

Sensors that detect smoke, heat, carbon monoxide, water, and temperature can protect
you and your home from fire, frozen pipes, and gas poisoning. These sensors don't come
standard with most security systems,
+ The main purpose of a home security system is to keep your property and the people inside
it safer. Harm may come in the form of a burglary, home invasion, fire, flood, or other
environmental disaster. Most home security systems can monitor for all of these. These
systems use a combination of sensors that communicate over radio frequencies or wires to a
central hub, which then communicates with the outside world using a cellular connection or
occasionally a landline. The hub is generally a touch screen mounted to your wall or a small
box placed on a counter or in a cupboard.

2. Differentiate virtual reality technology and augmented technology from one another.
Augmented reality is a more adaptable and practical version of virtual reality. Augmented
reality is a type of virtual reality that uses interactive scenarios to augment the real
environment with pictures and sounds to create a new experience. It does not totally immerse
people in an experience,
While VR is recognized for altering the gaming and entertainment business in general, the
gaming experience has been entirely revolutionized and improved all around as consoles and
handhelds adapt their titles for VR. As gamers get entirely absorbed in their own gaming world,
the connection between game and player grows much stronger.
In other industries including healthcare, retail, and education, VR is already assisting activities
such as assisting patients with anxiety to assisting students in learning more by experiencing
what they are being educated on.
AR employs a real-world setting, and VR uses a wholly virtual one, the differences between
VR and AR are based on the devices they require and the experience they provide: ... AR is
accessible with a smartphone, whereas VR necessitates the use of a headset. VR merely
enhances a fictitious reality, whereas AR enhances both the virtual and actual worlds.
Using virtual reality goggles, you may entirely control your view and have the feeling that
you're somewhere else. When you wear the HTC Vive Cosmos, PlayStation VR, Oculus
Quest, Valve Index, or other headsets, they are opaque, shutting off your surroundings. You
might assume you're blindfolded if you put them on when they're switched off.
Augmented reality enhances your eyesight, whereas virtual reality replaces it. HoloLens
and other enterprise-level "smart glasses" are transparent AR gadgets that allow you see
everything in front of you like you're wearing a weak pair of sunglasses.
