Introduction

Good day dear learners, how are you today? Do you feel great, relax and ready to
explore our world of Technology and Livelihood Economics? That’s good to hear. But before
we go further I, welcome you to module 4. This material will guide you in learning deliberate
policies on sustainable development in constructing a project plan. Also, it will help you in
assessing the quality of enhanced product using rubrics and how to refine it to make it
marketable.
Each lesson has different parts for you to explore, read, understand and
conceptualized the idea.
I hope this material help you a lot to understand and inspire you, in your leaning
beyond this pandemic.
Few reminders are needed to follow for the smooth sailing of your learning:
1. Read and understand carefully each lesson.
2. This module contains self-answering test for you to answer smartly. Therefore,
follow each instruction.
3. Do your work properly and ask guidance from your parents, guardians, older
siblings if some words mislead you, remember asking help is not showing failure,
instead, it will help you grow and understand the different aspects in life.

Definition of Terms

Ecosystem The whole group of living and non-living things that make up
the environment and affect each other.
Natural Resource Something (as a mineral, forest, or kind of animal) that is found
in nature and is valuable to humans.
Humans Relating to a characteristic of people as distinct from lower
animals.
Policies A definite course of action adopted for the sake of expediency,
facility.

Sustainable Development and your Project:


Sustainable development means the development of the people that meets not only
the present but also the future generations without compromising the welfare of our natural
resources.
As responsible people in our community, we must ensure that:
1. Environmental integrity is maintained.
2. Harmony in social equity is not minimized.
3. Economic efficiency with ecological and social responsibility is work hand in hand.

Policies on Planning a Project:


To start a project, you need to consider the following:
1. Plan your project ahead of time. Remember, “if you fail making a plan, your plan will
fail”

2. Study your project will, Is it for your own purposes? For home usage? Or for school?

3. Itemize the steps before you start the project.

4. Identify the needed materials.


5. Prepare your tools and equipment.
6. Be sure that you know the exact tools to be used to avoid accidents.
7. Is the design of the project possible or not?
Health and Safety Measures:
When working, it is important to follow certain safety measures to achieve success in
making the project and to avoid any untoward accidents.
1. Use your personal protective equipment, such as apron, mask, gloves, and goggles as
needed.
2. Keep your work area clean and orderly.

3. Store raw materials in a secure storeroom away from possible fire.
4. Clean and deposit tools in their respective area after used.
6. Read and follow manufacturers' instruction before using it.
7. Use proper tools and equipment for a specific job. To make work easy, fast and ensures
quality of the product.
8. Focus on your work. “No Playing Around”.
Remember:
 An ounce of extra prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.
 Repentance always comes last!

There are important things to manage in doing your work, in order for you not to waste
any of it.
a. Time – As the saying goes “Time is Gold, once lost cannot be regained”. So manage
your time properly. Itemized what’s should be done first, second, next, and so on.
b. Money – It is the most important thing in business. Therefore, keeping track with your
progress and finances is important. List down the needed materials; determine which
should be given priority. Buy cheap but durable ones. Lastly, do not overspend on
something that deem necessary.
c. Effort – Proper management or our strength can speed up work and lessen the
burden and stress in our work:

to make quality assured material without compromising the price in the market to gain more
buyer.
Once the product is made assessing is important to review and evaluate the quality of the
material.

What is It LET’S REMEMBER

For enhancing the finished product, one must consider the outline of the product to
be enhanced as a guide. Make sure that policies on sustainable development are followed.
Resourcefulness and management skills must be implemented.

Why is it important to enhance finished products?


1. Costumers attract easily to a well-decorated product.
2. It can allure customers to buy the product even with its face value.
3. Improves product quality.
4. Increase sales.
5. Can bring more profit.
In enhancing the product, you improve the quality of your material. Make the
appearance look expensive, and make it a high quality and popular one. Just make sure to
create an original product out of your imagination, plan it properly, outline it, give your best in
making the product and enhance it so that it will attract the eyes of every costumer.

Finishing materials improves the appearance of the product. They also protect it so
that it will last longer. Finishing materials adds color, design, and glow in your product.
