I know what you’re thinking — women are masters of mixed signals and, half of the
time, they don’t know what they want. That is true in some cases.

However, women and men just communicate in different ways. Men are more to
the point, and women are less direct than men and tend to dance around the point.

I don’t privilege one way of communicating over the other, but it is important to
know this when you are trying to figure out if a girl likes you.

And it can be particularly difficult to figure out if a girl likes you over text, so to help
make matters less complicated and to make your love life easier, these are some of
the most reliable ways to know if her texts indicate an interest.

1. She initiates the conversation.

One of the first ways to distinguish whether or not a woman likes you is if she is the
one initiating the conversation. It is the same with both genders. If someone wants
to talk to you, they will. And if they don’t, they won’t. It is a harsh fact but one that is
true.

If you are the one who is constantly initiating conversation and you aren't getting a
response in a timely manner, then your girl is most likely not that interested in you.

There are some cases in which a person is not text savvy, which means that they
are not accustomed to texting practices that have become a cultural norm. If your
crush is unable to adapt or to meet you halfway in communicating, then she is
probably just not that into you.

You can make as many excuses as you want, but the fact of the matter is that if a
girl wants to talk to you, she will find a way to communicate with you.

2. She responds in detail and in a timely manner.

The second way to tell if a girl is interested in you is that she responds to you in
detail — and in a timely manner. If a girl constantly sends you one-word answers,
she is either not interested in you or she is annoyed. Either way, one-word answers
are not a good sign.

If she responds in a timely manner, there is a definite possibility that she likes you.
If she doesn't care about you, she will read your text and think to herself, "Oh, I’ll
get back to him later." And then she’ll eventually forget.

However, if she likes you, she will make it a priority to respond to you. And she will
do it rather quickly. Some women are rather chatty, so this one is best to gauge if

3. She uses a lot of emojis.

The way that you write allows people to gain insight into your personality, sense of
humor, skills, and sometimes even your values. What do you think gets a better
response between these two texts?: "Waddup?" vs. "Hey, Amanda, how are you? I
think we should meet up and go on an adventure! Let me know if you’re free." I
hope that your answer is the second one. And if it is not, we have some work to do.

One of the benefits of texting is that it gives you time to compose your messages
and think about how you want to come across. Do you want to come across as only
seeking a booty call? Then go for the first one.

But if you want to come across as being someone who has the potential to be this
girl’s boyfriend, take time to think about what you’re saying, and emojis aid in
making conversation. They let you show feeling without blatantly stating it. Emojis
allow you to communicate non-verbally over text.

Emojis are used to express emotions and are an excellent way to express your
feelings without the actual use of words, which sometimes can be difficult to
formulate on the spot. For example, sending the kissy face emoji at the end of a
text can give a more flirty feeling to an otherwise mundane text message.

Just like how we choose words, we chose certain emojis to aid in our
communication. So use them if you want to express your feelings, but also pay
attention to the ones that your crush is sending you because they could be an
indication as to whether or not she likes you.

4. She sends you songs that remind her of you.

Sending songs that remind her of you is a way of flirting and lets you know how she
feels without actually saying it. Maybe she heard a song on the radio and instantly
thought of you, or you made a memory while listening to a particular song. Either
way, this is a clear sign that she is trying to move your relationship forward.

In the early stages of talking, if she texts you a lot, it means she enjoys talking to
you and she feels comfortable saying anything on her mind. So, it could be why she
is texting you, maybe a bit too much. Yes, double texting can sometimes feel like
she is becoming clingy and needy, but it is how she shows interest in you. Take it
as a compliment rather than an annoyance.

6. She asks you personal questions.

When a woman starts asking you personal questions, not just regular "getting to
know you" questions, it's a good sign she wants to get to know you on a more
personal level. Women don't just ask questions randomly if they don't want to know
the answer. Her doing this is one of the signs that a girl is not just physically
attracted to you, but wants to know what is going on inside your mind, and why you
are the way you are today.

7. She tells you personal things about herself.

When you are talking to a girl and she becomes comfortable with you, she will soon
start sharing things about herself. It is clear by this action that she likes you and
wants you to know more about her personality and life. Otherwise, she wouldn't be
openly sharing personal information that ordinary people might not know. It also
means she sees you as someone she can trust.

8. She asks you about your plans for the future.

Early on, if she is using your text conversation to learn about your future, she is
trying to figure out if there is a place for her. She wants to know if there are any
possible roadblocks that could break you apart, which don't have anything to do
with distance. So, when she wonders about your short and long-term plans, it is for
a good reason.

9. She gives you frequent updates about what she is doing.

Telling you about what she is doing means she wants to incorporate you into her
life, make you part of her weekday or weekend plans, and create room for you. She
wants to let you into her life, let you get familiar with her interests, and her daily
routines. Talking about real life is a great sign that she really likes you.

10. She teases you.

When a girl starts teasing you, it means she is trying to get a response from you.
While many can relate to teasing on the playground, doing so over text is just a fun

you images of the places she goes, it is a clear sign she wants you to know what
she is up to. This would be a great chance to send her something back. It doesn't
have to be anything you aren't comfortable with but will send her the message that
you reciprocate her interest.

12. She notices when you haven't replied or texted.

If you have not texted her in a while or replied to her texts, there is no doubt she will
notice, especially if you converse every day. It is an indication that she is thinking
about you and is afraid to lose the connection with you when you aren't talking. This
fear comes from her intense feelings and possibly a fear of rejection.

She sees a potential future with you and doesn't want anything to ruin those
chances. If you get a follow-up text asking if you're okay, be sure to send her

She doesn't just send you texts asking how your day is — she is the first person to

14. She laughs at what you say.

When a girl likes a guy, she will laugh at almost everything he says. It is something
women naturally do. And it is the same over text, except she might respond with a
LOL or laughing emoji. If she replies with laughter, it means she is paying attention,
having a great time talking to you, thinks you are hilarious and is inadvertently
revealing her interest in you.

While having texting conversations about daily life and the TV shows you're
currently watching are great, if she starts sending flirty messages, it is just another
way to show her interest. Sending flirty messages is a sign she likes you a lot. She

Women don't just give out compliments unless they mean them! If she says nice
