WARRANT ARREST/ATTEMPTED CAR JACKING

11-27607

On 6/15/2011, at approximately 6:00AM, deputies patrolling Ypsilanti Twp responded to the area of the US-12 Bypass and Airport Industrial Dr for an attempted carjacking incident. Sheriff Deputies were attempting to arrest a wanted felon in the 200 block of Dakota Ave when the suspect fled from deputies and confronted a motorist nearby. The suspect flagged down a motorist and attempted to forcibly enter the vehicle to steal car in order to continue fleeing from police. The suspect was unable to gain access to the motorists vehiclebut the motorist was able to identify the suspect. Deputies continued pursuit of the suspect until he was captured on the US-12 Bypass. Deputies will be forwarding a report to the Prosecutors Office for review.

MDOP (VANDALISM)

11-27615

Deputies from Ypsilanti Twp responded to the 5000 block of Bosuns Way for the complaint of vandalism. The victim contacted police on 6/15/2011but was unable to provide a timeframe for the incident. The victim informed deputies that their vehicle was parked outside of their apartment building. Early Wednesday morning the victim discovered that a window on their car had been smashed. No suspect information was available. The incident remains open.

LARCENY

11-27651

Sheriff Deputies responded to the 9000 block of Joan Circle, in Ypsilanti Twp, for the complaint of a stolen lawnmower. Police were called on 6/15/2011the victim believes the theft occurred sometime during the night. A lawnmower was stolen from outside of the victims home. No suspect information was available. The case remains open. Stolen Property: 1 MTD 21 14HP lawnmower

On 6/15/2011 deputies assigned to the Village of Dexter responded to the 8000 block of Main St for the complaint of vandalism. Deputies were informed someone spray painted graffiti on the side of a commercial building. No suspect information was available at the time of this posting. The case remains open.

LARCENY

On 6/15/2011, at approximately 11:30PM, Ypsilanti Twp deputies were called to the 2000 block of Whittaker Rd for a stolen purse complaint. The victim informed deputies they were shopping at a business when their purse was stolen from a shopping cart. No arrests have been made at the time of this posting. The incident continues to be investigated by area deputies.

11-27582 Scio Twp deputies arrested a wanted subject on 6/15/2011, at approximately 12:15AM. Deputies were in the 100 block of April Dr conducting an unrelated investigation when the wanted subject was identified. The outstanding arrest warrants were confirmed and the subject was taken into custody without incident. 11-27635 Superior Twp deputies were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Superior Rd and Huron River Dr when they arrested a wanted subject. 11-27757 On 6/15/2011 deputies patrolling Ypsilanti Twp arrested a wanted person in the area of East Michigan Ave and Campbell Ave. The deputies were conducting proactive enforcement when the subject was identified and arrested, at approximately 11:00PM.
