Save the Date: The 101st Lake Bluff 4th of July Parade is Coming Lake Bluff 4th of July Parade Committee Urges Residents to Embrace Freedom
LAKE BLUFF With July 4th just two weeks away, the Lake Bluff 4th of July Parade Committee is working to finalize the events, parade entries, volunteers and more that make the annual tradition a favorite of young and old. After celebrating the 100th Lake Bluff 4th of July Parade in 2010, 2011s event will be a worthy encore. With the right amount of traditional and updated events for every audience, the Lake Bluff 4th of July Parade Committee looks forward to celebrating Independence Day and freedom all weekend long. The schedule of events for the 2011 Lake Bluff 4th of July Parade weekend is: Friday, July 1st 2011 Village of Lake Bluff Block Party 5:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m. This community-wide event is celebrating its second year with an extra hour of fun and festivities. In addition to live music, the 2011 Village of Lake Bluff Block Party will feature games for kids, a beverage oasis offering beer, wine and non-alcoholic choices as well as a Taste of Lake Bluff from 11 of Lake Bluffs restaurants. Band Line-Up 5:00 - 6:00 Take Note Quartet (Barber Shop) 6:00 - 8:00 Crooked Moon 8:00 - 11:00 Stayin' Late Confirmed Restaurants Aleks; Bangkok Tokyo; Best Wishes Ice Cream; Bluffingtons; Daily Grind; Grille No. 43; Luke's; Noodle Bar; Scooters; Wildflour Bakery; Wisma Saturday, July 2nd Ice Cream Social on the Village Green 2:00 p.m. In 2011 the Ice Cream social is. Complimentary Oberweis Dairy ice cream, and toppings, will be available on the Village Green starting at 2:00 p.m. and lasting as long as the ice cream does. Even more great ice cream will be available than last year, so grab the family and a blanket or chairs and head to the Village Green. But at the same time, we were already looking forward to 2011: Lets celebrate freedom and Lake Bluff. Were ready. In 2011, the 4th of July Parade Committee has decided to embrace the spirit of Independence Day and what freedom has meant in the creation and reputation of America. Responding to a growing trend across the globe in which citizens of other countries are attempting to become free and democratic, the Lake Bluff 4th of July Parade Committee has selected a patriotic theme: Embrace Freedom. On behalf of the Lake Bluff 4th of July Parade Committee I would like to thank our generous corporate sponsors and the businesses and residents from across the area that have supported our efforts. Without their contributions, the weekend would not be as memorable, Dintruff continued. I encourage families and residents from across the area to join in the fun over the 4th of July weekend in Lake Bluff.
