USING CARD CATALOG, OPAC, AND SEARCH ENGINE TO LOCATE INFORMATION

At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to

A card catalog is a physical listing of all

the contents of a library, organized with a

classifications according to Dewey Decimal or Library of
Congress.

Four Kinds of Card Catalog

1. AUTHOR CARD- List each book with author’s
last name.
2. TITLE CARD- presents the title of each book in
the first line of the card.
3. SUBJECT CARD- List each book of non-fiction
by the name of the subject.
4. CROSS REFERENCE CARD- This refers you to
other subject headings.
