REFLECTION PAPER

Taking classes in the middle of the pandemic really gave a toll in the learnings not only
to the students but also to the teachers and professors because they were the one who really
doubled their effort to give a good teaching in educating the students. I realized my teachers have
their own traits or characteristics during classes and as a student who wants to be a teacher, I
must also have that kind of characteristics to be an ideal teacher. An ideal teacher must be
energetic, organized, and communicative with students, consistency of presence even in the
middle of online classes for it to be active, quality learning experience and student and content
engagement. I know that there is a lot of characteristics to be an ideal teacher, these five really
gives an impact to perfectly help students to motivate them and continue studying no matter what
the obstacle is.

It is hard to say that teachers can become efficient and effective at the same time. But a
teacher can become efficient and effective at the same time depending on how he or she oversees
his or her classroom in managing all the responsibilities and accountabilities of a student. Since
we are in a blended learning type of education, I can see that teaching and interacting with the
students were brought up in a different level of learning using technology and digital media. It
takes a lot of time and effort to be considered an effective and efficient teacher because being an
effective teacher, it means that you had helped the students learning and growing into someone
who will be able to understand what responsibility is and an efficient teacher is doing their best
performing all their responsibilities as a teacher. To achieve both, teachers need to plan on what
type of approach will they use on assessing the course content to the students for them to
understand it. Teachers would have to provide high-quality learnings filled with technology
integration to increase achievements of the students.

The 21st century learner is my colleagues and me. As a learner, I learn my lesson at a
digital media through a blended learning. Studying in the middle of the pandemic allows me to
be able to adapt and develop learning for the challenges and opportunities that may arise from
changes in technologies, economies, and societies to produce, synthesize and evaluate
information from a wide variety of subjects and sources with an understanding of and respect for
diverse cultures. As a learner, I study what I must study and research it for more information.
Being a student, one will be admired by the other learners by being an ideal learner. Such as
being on top of the class like collaborating with other students, giving an effort to study, joining
in a group work, connection, and communication among peers.

I have a lot of favorite teachers, but Ms. Joy Alamo is on the top that I will never forget.
We all know that it is given for a teacher to instruct their students about certain lesson but with
her, it is not only about that. I learnt a lot of different things from her especially about life
experiences. She was always there to motivate her students, making sure that by the end of the
day we will understand everything she had taught us and after class she is still there telling us we
have her back as a second parent. Anyways, she is also one of the reasons why I still pursued
education even though my parents wanted a different course for me, and this is the result of how
she inspires my life. As a future educator, she will always be my reminder on how I should treat
my students the moment I manage one in the future. I realized, learners will probably not
remember every lecture taught but they will always remember and look back to all good things
of their memories and get in touch with it.
