Reinforced Concrete Roof Slabs

♦ Reinforced concrete roof slabs are formed and site-cast in the same ways as
concrete floor systems.
♦ Roof slabs are normally roofed with a membrane type of roofing, as shown in the
cross section.

Roof Edge Conditions

The edge of a concrete roof slab may be treated in three different ways:

Long Span Concrete Structures

Concrete is well-suited for the construction of surface-active structural systems


capable of spanning long distances. The concrete can be reinforced and formed into
the structural shapes with the required continuity of surface.
