favorable investments are interest rates, price levels, diversification, risk mitigation,
and indexes.

3. Borrowing - In most cases, almost every individual is required to borrow money at one point in
their life. To ensure borrowing is done effectively, an understanding of interest
rates,
compound interest, time value of money, payment periods, and loan structure is
crucial.

If the criteria above are understood sufficiently, an individual’s financial literacy will
increase, which will provide practical borrowing guidelines and reduce long-term
financial stress.

4. Taxation - Gaining knowledge about the different forms of taxation and how they impact an
individual’s net income is crucial for obtaining financial literacy. Whether it be
employment, investment, rental, inheritance, or unexpected, each source of
income
is taxed differently.

Awareness of the different income tax rates permits economic stability and
increases financial performance through income management.
5. Personal Financial Management- The most important criteria, personal financial management,
includes an entire mix of all of the components listed above.

Financial security is ensured by balancing the mix of financial components above

to
solidify and increase investments and savings while reducing borrowing and debt.

Achieving an in-depth knowledge of the financial components discussed above

- School leaders, media specialists, and educators are focusing more and more on the benefits of
digital literacy skills in schools because today’s students are looking to the Internet as a key
source of information. Students who are digitally literate know how to find and consume digital

- Students who are building digital literacy skills understand the basics of Internet safety such as
creating strong passwords, understanding and using privacy settings, and knowing what to
share or not on social media. They understand the perils of cyberbullying and seek to stop
current bullies and prevent others from cyberbullying.

- In today’s digital world, nearly every career requires digital communication at some point, so
equipping students with the skills to effectively and responsibly find, evaluate, communicate,
and share online content is key to their futures. But the benefits of teaching your students digital
literacy skills begin in the classroom right now.

Lesson 6. Eco-literacy

What isEco-literacy, and why is it important?

Ecological literacy (also referred to as ecoliteracy) is the ability to understand the natural systems
that make life on earth possible.

The survival of humanity depends upon our ecological literacy – our ability to understand the basic
principles of a connected Nature and how to live accordingly. This means that ecological literacy must
become a critical skill for all humans to embrace if we are to remain on Earth.

Ecological literacy is important for our kids because if we lose nature, we will be lost too. Each
living creature on the planet can't survive without water and food and this is something that our kids
must learn from childhood. ... A good ecological literacy is something that is a must for every person in
the world.

Ecological literacy involves applying a way of thinking that emphasizes relationships,

connectedness and context. For example, we can only understand a songbird by exploring both its own
characteristics as well as its interactions with the watershed where it lives.

Arts literacies help students develop design-thinking, creativity and critical thinking—all skills said to
be important for the future workforce. Artistic practices intrinsically involve the reception-production of
