 PRAYER
-Before we start let’s have a prayer. (One of the pupils will lead the prayer.)

(Solid figures have properties called faces, lateral,
vertices, edge and bases. Who can describe the faces,
lateral, vertices, edge, and bases of a solid figure?
Face is a flat surface.
Lateral faces are the sides
Edge is a segment formed by intersecting faces.
Vertices are point of intersection of the edges.
The upper and lower congruent faces are called the
bases.

To make it clear let’s take a look at this picture.


There are different kinds of Geometric solid or solid
figures and these are prism, pyramid, cone, cylinder
and sphere. Who will describe prism?
Who will give an example of prism?
Who will explain rectangular prism as you’ve looking
at the picture?
How about triangular prism?
Let’s move on to the second kind of solid figures, who
will explain pyramid?
Can you give an example of pyramid____________?
From the word rectangular, can you explain what
rectangular pyramid is?
How about the square pyramid?
And lastly, triangular pyramid who will explain?
What do you call to the solid figures that have curved
surfaces?
What is cone?
Can you give an example of cone_____________?
Who will explain cylinder?
Can you give an example of cylinder_________?
And lastly sphere who will explain?
Who will give an example of sphere?

 FIXING SKILLS

Prism is a three-
dimensional figure
whose base is exactly the
same as the face directly
above it. It has 4 lateral faces that are parallelograms.
The top and bottom faces are called the bases, which
are congruent parallel polygons.
Example ma’am is cube.
-The opposite bases are rectangles and they are equal
in measure.
The opposite bases are triangles and they are equal in
measure. The faces are rectangles.
Pyramid is a solid figure with at least 3 lateral faces
that are triangles. Faces met at a common point called
the vertex. It has only one base which is a polygon.
The shape of the base tells the name of the pyramid.
- The base is a rectangle and the faces
are triangle.
-The base of the pyramid is a square.
-The base of the pyramid is a triangle.
-Cone, cylinder, and sphere
Cone is a solid figure with one circular base and one
vertex.

Cylinder is a solid figure with circle as the bases.
The bases are congruent. It has neither vertices nor
edges.

Sphere is a solid figure with all of points equidistant
from the center. No faces, bases, edges or vertices.
