FOOD TRUCK BUSINESS PLAN

(“BITES ON WHEELS”)
DESCRIPTION:
There are many aspiring food entrepreneurs who are very eager to establish a restaurant
on their own but were not able to do so due to capital constraints. With this, our group have
decided to work on a business plan that will maximize the capital resources of entrepreneurs
while they are still starting their food business. Food truck businesses have increased its
popularity now a days, it is basically a large vehicle with a kitchen to make and serve food.
Many entrepreneurs opt to have a food truck because compared to purchasing a restaurant
location, food trucks are much more affordable. Aside from that, Food Truck business comes
with the advantage of having mobility in bringing the business to different locations based on
demand during different periods of the day, days of the week, etc. It also possesses the freedom
of choosing a wide range of menu items and having a full control of your schedules. Our food
truck business will be named as “BITES ON WHEELS”, it is a mobile kitchen that will be going
around the streets of Downtown Area, Dumaguete City. We will be serving breakfast, lunch
meals and snacks partnered with variety of refreshing drinks. All the food in our menu will be at
a very affordable price because the target market of our business is the middle class. We will also
be receiving accommodations or engagements for special occasions such as birthday parties,
christening and the likes.
Truth been told that not all legal practices of the business is considered ethical, one concrete
example for this is the use of animals as subjects for clinical trials, testing or experiments of
various products such as cosmetics and medicines. While it is legal for businesses to use specific
animals allowed by law in testing their products for any defects or negative side effects that may
harm humans, for me, doing so is also an unethical practice. Section 6 of the Republic Act No.
8485 known as Animal Welfare Act of 1998, has cited that killing an animal is not considered
unlawful when the animal is killed after it has been used in authorized research or experiments,
from that we can infer that harming an animal for authorized research and experiment of various
businesses is allowed but as for us, we view such act as cruelty done to a living organism. We
know very well that anything who has life should be taken care of, respected, and preserved, we
should not in anyway cause harm to them. The aforementioned example is indeed an unethical
practice done by businesses, and they must stop doing such practice, there are many available
alternative ways on testing or experimenting products without actually using animals as subjects,
and businesses should resort to that.
