Premonition

FIRST PERSON
I opened my tired eyes.
I tried to move but I only shrieked in pain. My body was laid on the floor, positioned like a
6-month old fetus. My hands and feet were tied. I roamed my eyes around the dark place I was
in, with a bit of light coming from a small window. I was facing the door but opening it is way far
impossible.
I screamed. Only the echo and the cicadas from the outside answered.
“Is nobody here?”
Minutes or hours had passed. My mind is too tired to think about how long it was but
suddenly, I felt a rush of nervousness. There was a race of horses in my chest. I screamed
again, louder at this time. My instinct tells me that someone would come and hunt me.
Then ‘baaaang!’
The metal door opened and a silhouette stood at the doorway. Whoever it was entered
and I was covered in cold sweats. I couldn’t see who it is not until the owner of the silhouette
face me.
I woke up at the usual time.
The sun was already up and the sunlight is already beyond my bed. I turned on Spotify
and played some lofi hiphop music as I fix my beddings. My room is wide enough to only
accommodate one person. My bed is placed at the right side of the doorway, the window
opposite it and the study table below the window. I live in one of the cheapest room-for-rent
buildings in the city where I study. I am in junior year of college, an orphan, struggling on my
own to pay for the bills, feed and send myself to school.
Like any other mornings, after preparing for school, I sat on my study table and pulled
out my journal, the journal I have been keeping on its shelf. My dreams and nightmares were
written here and this morning, I would have to write a nightmare.

2017. 08. 21
Faceless girl, running away from someone, forest and truck
I usually write my dreams like this. As for this, I wish I could not have seen it.

7:48 AM
Geez! The school is near but at this rate, I will be late for my 8 AM class with the terror
professor!
Fast paced, I ran across the hall and down the stairs not minding if I will be injured or
not. I was about to run towards school since the jeepneys are all packed, when suddenly a car
horn sounded aloud. The window went down and there was Elissa! What a savior! I hopped
unto her car and arrived to class just in time.
I have known Elissa for two years now. She is first and only friend I have made in this
busy city. We became friends through a school party and the rest is history.

4:00 PM
The last class for today was finished. I was walking towards the café where I do my part-
time job when a hand suddenly grabbed me and had put a handkerchief to cover my nose and
mouth. I was forced to go inside a white vehicle. I was fighting and all I knew, I was drawn into
deep sleep.

6:30 PM
Then ‘baaaang!’
The metal door opened and a silhouette stood at the doorway. Whoever it was entered
and I was covered in cold sweats. I couldn’t see who it is not until the owner of the silhouette
face me.
‘Elissa
My eyes widened and I was drowned into confusion.
There was a mix of emotions inside me. But I never dared to ask a question. Se was my
best friend but I haven’t seen her face this face before. She was so scary, like she would
pulverize my bones using the metal she was gripping. She walked towards my lying body while
pulling the bar lazily causing it to make screeching sounds. She stood me stood up and sat me
on an almost broken chair.
I let go of the fear and shock on my throat and courageously asked her.
“What is this?”
She stopped for a second but continued walking again. She stopped in front of me and
drew her face face closer to mine.
‘This isn’t her.’
She looked serious- in a very scary way. She touched my right cheek with the metal bar
spotted with fresh blood, and smirked in a devilish way.
She walked away from me and went to my back. Carefully, she remove the ties on my
hand and feet. The only sound I could hear was the sound of the metal bar he was tapping on
the floor.
She broke the silence with her cry but I was too occupied with thinking of how to escape.
Then out of nowhere, he laughed, the one pyschos in movies do.
“I hate you,” she said in a small voice while glaring at me. “You are alone. You have no
family but how do you survive?”
“You are so full of yourself!”
Her voice filled this abandoned place.
“I loathe you! You should be gone, out of this small world permanently. You made me
weak!”
“You should now run!”

THIRD PERSON
She was trembling in so much fear as she tried to go out of that dark and cold place.
She was running despite of her weak and wounded body but her killer is just behind her. She
shot a gun in the open air. The lady ran faster towards the road and a vehicle was coming near.
She stopped at the center hoping that the vehicle would stop and that the driver would help.
But it was too late.
The lady with a gun following her saw that too. She then put the gun in her head and
pulled the trigger.
