Resultant downward pressure acting on deck causing deflection

p’ = p1 - p0
= 0.5230 - 0.4459 = 0.0771 T/m2

From large deflection theory of plate we have maximum deflection at the centre.
Y1 = 0.662 x a[ p’ x a/E x tD]n
Where ,
a = radius at deck = 14.05 m
E = Youngs Modulus = 20470000 T/m2
tD = thk. Of deck plate = 0.006 m
n = 1/3

Y1 = 0.662 x a[ p’ x a/E x tD]n

Xc = Distance of the center of buoyancy
I = Moment of Inertia
SA = Section Modulus at point “A”

Wt. Of Roof = 81.782 M/T

Buoyancy produced by submerged deck =  x 14.052 x 0.006 x 1 = 3.72 M/T
Effective wt. of roof , w = 81.782 – 3.72 = 78.061 M/T

Xc = 2 x (16.33 – 14.053 ) x sin171

3 x 2.985 x (16.32 – 14.052)

Moment of Inertia
I = 15.1753 x 2.25(2.985+sin171 cos171 - 2sin2171/2.985) = 22208.115 m4

Modulus ,SA = 22208.115 = 1298.958 m3
