farming needs.
Data analytics: redesign business model and bring customized solutions on the
table to churn out meaningful decision facilitating information transfer to the farmers

Up-Skilling on the use of applications-


An inclusive platform will be able to provide end-to-end services for farmers—from
selecting crops, optimizing plantation timings, seeding and fertilization rates based
on plants’ actual needs and regulatory requirements and limits.
Odisha- How MGNFs/DSCs can contribute?

• Long sea coast with large inland waterbodies: Upskilling to Fishery communities in all
coastal districts along with inland districts(i.e Kalahandi).

• Upskilling at Agro Production Cluster(APC): Customised Upskilling programme by


adding digital literacy in agriculture along with domain areas in various crop specific job
roles across identified 12 tribal districts of APC area.

• Women Centric Upskilling Programme: Goat Farming (i.e Mayurbhaj, Dhenkanal,


Kalahandi),Poultry farming (i.e Khurdha, Ganjam, Bolangir, Mayurbhanj) and Dairy (i.e
Bargarh, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Bhadrak) etc

• Crop Specific upskilling programme in various districts: Millets, Maize, Oil seed, Pulses,
Vegetables, Turmeric(spices), Mango, Coconut.

• Programmes for Forest Dwellers/Tribal Communities: Upskilling programmes to the


Tribal communities and forest dwellers on Non Timber Forest Produce Harvester,
Sericulturist, Beekeeper in major tribal districts of Odisha
West Bengal

focus on skilling in digital agriculture literacy, managing farm-gate

• Upskilling on Fisheries related Job roles: Upskilling of Fisher folks in entire Ganga,
Kosi and Gandak belt in suggestive job role like aquaculture worker, cage culture
fish farmer, fish seed production, Aquaculture Technical supervisor with focus area
in Biofloc etc

• Goatery and Poultry: North Bihar for Goatery, Central area for Poultry

• Dairy farming and allied activities: All most all districts in dairy farming, village
level milk collection in-charge
Jharkhand

• Programmes for Tribal Community: Creating opportunities in alternate livelihood


to Tribal community on Goat Farming, Backyard Poultry, Dairy Farming through
structured skill development programme along with upskilling in NTFP areas, Lac
cultivator, Bamboo grower

• Upskilling on Fisheries related Job roles: Cage culture is practiced in 17 districts of


the state in 25 reservoirs amongst which major are Chandil, Maithan, Patratu,
Tillaiya, Tenughat, Konar, Hatia and Kanke reservoirs. Opportunities in Culture,
Capture and Fisehries Assistance related job roles

• Certified Vegetable and Horticulture Producers: North Eastern/Western Plateau


(i.e Ranchi) region has maximum production as well as highest productivity of
vegetable and Fruits in Ranchi, Gumla, Lohardaga, Hazaribagh and Giridih.
Upskilling to the existing famers can be done.
Chhattisgarh

• Upskilling on Fisheries related Job roles: Chhattisgarh is among top six fish producing
States in the country. Upskilling to Fisher folks in aquaculture worker, Cage culture fish
farming, fish seed grower, hatchery management and worker are highlighted areas for
the state.

• Roughly 40% areas are covered by forests: Scientific method of collecting of food grade
quality of various NTFPs need to focused in skill development. Up-skilling programmes to
forest dwellers on Goat Farming, Backyard Poultry, Dairy Farming and Beekeeping as
alternate livelihood option to reduce the over exploitation on Forest Natural Resources.

• Medicinal Plant skill development: Chhattisgarh Government has declared the state
as "Herbal State”. Bilaspur district leads in medicinal and scented plants in Chhattisgarh.

• Upskilling Vegetable and Horticulture Producers:


• Watermelon is grown on a wide-scale at Mahanadi Basin-Janjgir-Champa and
Mahasamund districts.
• Around Watershed project area in Mahanadi basin( Mahasamund, Dhamtari, Raipur)
climate smart farming.

• MGNF can assist in PMKVY Special/ upskilling projects with special focus on Agriculture.
