Insights on Chapter 1 Lesson #1 The Rizal Law (R.A.

1425)

The study of Rizal's life and works is required under the Rizal Law,
commonly known as RA 1425, as can be seen in section 1. This Republic
Act urges the Filipino people to develop a stronger feeling of nationalism
at a time when their national identity is diminishing. By educating the
Filipino people about the life and contributions of our National Hero, who
has dedicated his entire life to serving his nation, the Rizal Law
demonstrates the importance of education. Through a variety of social
science fields, it introduces the Filipino to the beauty of studying Jose
Rizal's life and writings. Beyond simply introducing students to living
during Rizal's day, it seeks to foster in Filipinos not only a love of learning
but also a sense of nationality and patriotism.

The Rizal Law, also known as Republic Act 1425, is significant in


both social and political spheres. It offers solutions for dealing with
contemporary issues. It is a history subject, thus it is full with historical
details that can help us understand who we are as Filipinos. Understanding
how things evolve over time and gaining insight into the future are both
possible benefits of studying the past. Grasp our country's history aids in
developing a deeper understanding of it. It enables us to draw lessons from
the past, which aids us in planning our strategy for the future. National
historical hero Jose Rizal has significantly contributed to understanding
our shared experience and sense of self as Filipinos. Solving the problems
we face in our community and even society has an impact on the choices
we make in our own lives. By appreciating the influence of nationalism,
patriotism, national consciousness, and moral uprightness, it enables us to
become properly educated and to respect a peaceful and prosperous
nation.
