One of the biggest stars in country music is Miranda Lambert.

When she was married to

the musician Blake Shelton, the two appeared to be the "first couple" in country music.
They resembled royalty in country music in many ways. Sadly, their marriage simply did
not work out. The pair disclosed that they had parted ways in 2015.
They have been divorced for roughly seven years, but their split will go down as one of
the most tumultuous in A-list history. Of course, it is no easy feat having their divorce
under public scrutiny. Now, the songstress couldn’t help but make a rare comment
about the divorce, detailing how she was able to handle all the rumors.

Speaking to CBS News correspondent Lee Cowan, the country singer shared how she
felt about her life making in the spotlight and how she was able to deal with the rumors.
She admitted that she wasn’t prepared for the intense press intrusion into their
relationship, especially during such a difficult time for her life.
Lambert revealed, “I wasn’t prepared for that. Well, I don’t think anybody is. And it’s not
nice sometimes, but I think you got to take it with a grain of salt and know that I’m a
singer-songwriter so luckily, I can tell my whole truth.” Thankfully, she has the
opportunity to set the record straight in a very impactful way.
She added that she found a way to deal with the constant speculation about what really
went wrong in their marriage. “I will not lie in my music,” she said. Since she’s a singer-
songwriter, it’s unsurprising that she poured her feelings about the breakup into her
music.

What Did Miranda Lambert Learn From Her Divorce?
Though Miranda Lambert faced challenges and even rumors after her very public
divorce, she has learned lessons the hard way – and she’s thankful for that. In an
interview with People, she shared that it’s been a long journey to get to a great place in
her life. She said, “My manager’s been good about asking me to ‘sit in my life.’ Country
music is a huge part of my life, but it’s not fully who I am.”

That sometimes required her to endure awkward situations as she adjusted to life
without Shelton and got involved in several romances that frequently kept her in the
news. “When I turned 30, I started to take life in a new direction and really start to
understand myself better. And going through hard things obviously makes you get to
know yourself better,” she explained.
Revealing that she was “broken down pretty good,” the country singer had to figure out
what she wanted in life, and that meant getting to know herself all over again. That’s
when everything started to fall into place. She detailed, “I got to a really good place with
myself. Then I met my husband.”

Lambert knows that the difficulties she faced in her divorce from Shelton only prepared
her for the better side of life she is now experiencing. “Without the hard stuff – the
chaos, the crazy schedule, the heartbreak, the falling in love, the falling out of love – I
wouldn’t be who I am. I’m thankful for the lessons, even though they hurt at the time,”
she said.
She also added that she wants everyone to know how happy she is with her life now. “I
want to be open about how happy we are. I just don’t give two s***s about people’s
opinion of me, my marriage, my music or anything else. I just care that I’m being me,”
she explained.

The singer also mentioned how blessed she is to have met her husband, saying, “It’s
nice to have a partner in that, someone by your side that supports you, loves you and
believes in you. He loves me for me. It’s a really cool thing to have in my life, at this
point in my life.”
While Miranda Lambert is living happily with her husband Brendan McLoughlin, getting
in that status wasn’t easy. She had to reset her life after her divorce. And though their
four-year marriage with Blake Shelton ended in a breakup, it changed her life for the
better. She’s currently doing life on her terms – and it is definitely the best place to be.
