Challenges to Filipino Families Today - W2A

After reading the outline of Chapter 2 of Amorist Laetitia, choose at least 5 factors,
circumstances, conditions, or challenges, which is closest to our Filipino experience. Explain
each of them briefly.

1. Economic constraints prohibit a family’s access to education, cultural activities & the
involvement in the life of society
- The lack of financial capital in the Philippines among the society is a big problem in
the Philippines. The struggles heavy workload along with the minimum wage that are
mostly not enough for every average family builds up stress that prevents each of the
families’ emotional growth or nurture.

2. Problems in raising Children

- The generation of children now adays in the Philippines are mostly consumed by
social media. There are also tendencies where violence or hurting the child is
practiced as a punishment to the extent of disciplining them. Which results to poor
communication between the child and the parent/s.

3. Narcissism
- One reason why most of the couples in Philippines are experiencing a toxic or
unhealthy relationship is because of both of party’s ego. And the unstable or
changeable affectivity does not always allow a person to grow to maturity. Which
leads to conflicted relationship progress.

4. Couples are often uncertain, hesitant & struggling to find ways to grow
- Young couples often tend to stay on their early stages of their affective and sexual life
here. Which explains when they struggle during certain problems in their relationship.

5. Spread of pornography & commercialization of the body

- Ever since the pandemic, social media have always been the platform to connect and
socialize. The youth are exposed to the media, and because of the free access to
multiple websites, they are also exposed to pornographic media. The country and the
youth are being affected by their simple desires.
