Jaunpur block of Tehri district is a cluster

of 259 villages surrounded in vicinity of

Himalayas adorned with beautiful Pahadi
culture and picturesque beauty of snow
clad mountains. The block has total
population of 72219 people among
which 36155 are males, 36064 are
females and remaining 10980 are kids
lying in the age group of 0- 6 years.

Agricultural dependent economy with

63% literacy, the Jaunpur block has
undergone sudden climatic changes in
recent years. Like other Himalayan
districts and places, the region is most
vulnerable to climate meditated risks. Its
impact is expected to range from
vegetation shift to erratic rainfall, leading
to flash floods and other agricultural
problems. The region has also seen the
problems of migration which has lead to
the negative growth of population in the
last decade. Various other socio-

pilot project “Building Climate Resilience

for Forest Dependent Communities” is

enhancing the adaptive capacities and

OBJECTIVE OF
THE DOCUMENTARY
The sole purpose of this documentary
will be to showcase the workings of the
pilot project and how it’s working to help
the problem of climatic changes in the
affected areas. It will also explain the
impacts of the project on the lives of the
locals and what changes it has made so
far. It will also explain implementation
model which includes:
· Identification of climate adaptation
strategies and its implementation such as
Sustainable Forest Management (SFM),
Agriculture Diversification, Water Security,
Non Conventional Energy Sector and
awareness rasing & capacity building.

building.

actions and innovation.
