BACCALAUREATE MASS

PROCESSIONAL:

CELEBRANT ----------------------------
INTRODUCTORY RITE:

Commentator: INTRODUCTION

Good morning dear brothers and sisters! Today is indeed, one of the most memorable days of our
lives. It marks our success after six years of struggle as pupils of______________________, our Alma Mater. Yet,
graduation is not the end of our endeavors. Rather, it is the beginning of a new life—a new life of facing
more challenges more responsibilities, a new life with a MISSION. God calls us by our names and we are
his children. Thus, we also share the mission of his Son, Jesus Christ: TO MAKE GOD’S KINGDOM A
REALITY IN WHATEVER COMMUNITY WE MAY BE. May we live and work to realize this mission
wherever we will be in the future. But now, let us join our hearts and minds together as a community of
faith, hope, and love to celebrate the Holy Eucharist in thanksgiving for the blessings of the Lord in our
life, especially the love, care, and sacrifices of our parents, guardians, teachers, and school administrator
for us. May all their efforts in educating us throughout the years bear abundant fruits.
Please rise and together we sing the entrance hymn.

Let us pray, Father, by this Easter mystery you touch our lives with the healing power of your love. You
have given us the freedom of the sons of God. May we who celebrate your gift find joy in it forever in heaven.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the holy Spirit one God
forever and ever…

ALL: Amen

COMENTATOR: Please be seated to hear the word of God.

The change in name of Abram to Abraham is already a sign that the salvation that God will eventually
bring to the earth in His Son, Jesus, is not just salvation for the Jews, but salvation for all people. How do we
see this? Simply by looking at the name change for “father of a (singular) nation to father of the (many)
nations’. It could not be any simpler than that!

Let us all listen to the first reading, to be read by Grezzyle May Babanto

LITURGY OF THE WORD

First Reading: A reading is taken from the book of Genesis

When Abram prostrated himself, God continued to speak to him: “My covenant with you is this:
you are to become the father of a host of nations.” No longer shall you be called Abram: your name shall be
Abraham, for I am making you the father of a host of nations. I will render you exceedingly fertile; I will make
nations of you; kings shall stem from you. I will maintain my covenant with you and your descendants after you
throughout the ages as an everlasting pact, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. I will
give to you and to your descendants after you the land in which you are now staying, the whole land of Canaan,
as a permanent possession; and I will be their God.” God also said to Abraham: “On your part, you and your
descendants after must keep my covenant throughout ages.
The Word of the Lord

ALL: Thanks be to God

COMMENTATOR: The responsorial psalm reflects the reaction of those who accepted the Lord’s
covenant. The responsorial psalm will be sung by Kimberly Kate Gracia
PSALMIST: For our Responsorial Psalm let our response be….
“Here I am Lord, is it I Lord
I have heard You calling in the night
I will go Lord if you lead me
I will hold your people in my heart.”

COMENTATOR: Please all rise to honor the Holy Gospel.

GRADUAL: Seek Ye First

PRIEST: The Lord be with you

ALL: And with your Spirit
PRIEST: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Saint John.
ALL: Glory to you Oh Lord

PRIEST:
“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” So the Jews said to
Him, “Now we are sure that you are possessed. Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say,
“Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.” Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died?
Or the prophets, who died? Who do you make yourself out to be?” Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself,
my glory is worth nothing; but it is my father who glorifies me, of whom you say, “He is our God.” You
do not know him, but I know him. And if I should say that I do not know him, I would be like you a liar.
But I do know and I keep his word. Abraham your father rejoiced to see my day; he saw it and was
glad.” So the Jews said to them. “Amen, amen, I say to you before Abraham came to be, I AM.” So they
picked up stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid and went out of the temple area.

PRIEST: This is the Gospel of the Lord

ALL: Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ

COMENTATOR: Please be seated and let us listen to the Homily

HOMILY
Commentator : Let us all rise for the Profession of Faith.
Celebrant : As one family believing in one faith and one true light, let us pray…
ALL:
I believe in one God the Father Almighty Maker of Heaven of lall things visible and invisible. I
believe in One Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten son of God born of the Father before all ages Gog from
God, Light from Light, True God from True God, begotten not made consubstantial with the Father; through
Him all things were made for us men and for our salvation He came down from Heaven and by the Holy Spirit
was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man . For our sake he was crucified under Pontious Pilate he
suffered death and was buried and rose again on the third day in accordance with the scriptures. He ascended
into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and
the dead and His Kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit the Lord, the giver of life who proceeds
from the father and the son who with the father and the son is adored and glorified who was spoken through the
prophets. I believe in one Holy Catholic and Apostolic church. I Confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the word to come. AMEN
