Glove Box Rattles Over Bumps

SYMPTOM REPAIR PROCEDURE


The glove box rattles while driving over bumps or 1. Open the glove box, and remove the passenger’s

DIAGNOSIS
While driving the vehicle over bumps and rough roads,
apply pressure to the glove box, or open the glove box
completely. If the rattle stops, go to REPAIR
PROCEDURE. If the rattle does not change, continue
with normal troubleshooting procedures.

2. Cut two 20 mm x 30 mm pieces of wool felt. Attach
the felt to each side of the dashboard as shown
below.

NOTE: To prevent the felt from showing when the


glove box is open, position it just under the bottom
edge of the rib.

3. Reinstall the passenger’s dashboard trim.

4. Test-drive the vehicle to make sure that the rattle is


gone.
