HOW TO FIND OVER ENERGY MERIDIANS

1. Tug around the navel, pulling the skin in the direction of the 5 Elements and test in each direction.
FIRE
WOOD EARTH

WATER METAL
2. When you find a direction that goes weak, continue tugging in that direction and retest after stating
each meridian on that element looking for one that changes to strong:

• Fire - Heart, Small Intestine, Circulation Sex, Triple Warmer • Earth - Spleen, Stomach

• Metal - Lung, Large Intestine • Water - Kidney, Bladder • Wood - Liver, Gall Bladder

3. Then test the alarm point for that meridian to see if it tests weak, confirming the over energy there.

ALARM POINTS TO FIND OVER ENERGY IN THE BODY

Touch the alarm point(s) associated with the meridian that shows over energy from the tug around the
umbilicus test and test a strong muscle. If it tests weak, it confirms the meridian is over energy.
• If it is a bilateral meridian, it may test weak on both sides or only one, indicating if one or both sides
are over energy.
• If it is a midline alarm point that tests weak, retest while the person looks to the left and retest, then
to the right and retest.

• The side that tests strong is the side of over energy (it can be both sides).
