27 July 2012 ERC Decision: Deferred action on the proposed FIT for ocean
“until sufficient data becomes available upon which the
Commission may base its determination”
22 March 2013 Manifestation with Motion to Submit Additional Documents
was filed by NREB
25 November 2013 ERC granted the Motion through an Order
January 2014 NREB filed its Notice of Compliance and Manifestation
providing additional documents to support the reasonableness
of the key parameters and assumptions used as inputs to the
Financial Model to compute the proposed initial FIT for ocean
energy, as well as, a summary of the documents already
submitted and formally offered to the ERC to support the
proposed FIT for ocean
23 January 2014 Hearing on the additional evidence with Mrs. L. Latimer and
Dir. Mario Marasigan (REMB-DOE) as resource persons
17 March 2014 NREB was considered to have rested its case after additional
documents were formally offered in evidence to the ERC.

TARGET OCEAN ENERGY ROADMAP
DRAFT, FEB 2016, NREP
MW, BY LOCATION

POTENTIAL
Commissioning Year CAPACITY
Location ADDITION
2016-2020 (MW) 2021-2025 (MW) 2026-2030 (MW) (MW)
LUZON 0 25 130 155
VISAYAS 0 8 8
MINDANAO 0 6 12 17
Total 0 31 150 181

Assumptions:
•2021-2025: The capacity additions indicated based on the RE Service Contracts awarded.
•2026-2030: Aspirational targets comprising of 100 MW (70% NCF) OTEC and 50 MW (NCF
30%)Tidal Current. The OTEC target assumes that the first 10 MW OTEC expected in 2022
may acquire a one-year operational and performance data needed to design and build the
next scale up at 100 MW. The Tidal Current target at 47 MW assumes conservatively that there
might be an uncertain limits to commercially viable tidal current sites and is subject to a
resource assessment study.
