One Family One Fight

The prophet Elijah represented the very power of God in the OT:
- Elijah called fire down from heaven and killed 400 prophets of Baal
- He had a showdown w/ the prophets of Baal “Why halt between 2 opinions”
- He prayed and it did not rain for 2.5yrs
- Raised a young boy from the dead
o I Kings 19:4(KJV) It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life;
for I am not better than my fathers.
 I Kings 19:10(KJV) And he said, I have been very jealous for
the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have
forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain
thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and
they seek my life, to take it away.
 What nothing else could do ‘aloneness” did. Ahab &
Jezebel, prophets of Baal, and a dead son couldn’t do
being by himself alone did.
o (I Kings 19:18) There are 7k that have not bowed
a knee to Baal (You are not alone)

Gen. 2:18(KJV) And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be
alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
- God recognizes that ‘man alone is not good’ so God gave a helpmeets
o Physically God gave marriage
o Spiritually God gave us helpmeets
 The Bible (A word from God)
 The HG (God will never leave you, nor forsake you)
 The Church (The family of God)
God worked in families
- Israel (Children of Abraham) > Gen. 12:2-3(KJV) And I will make of thee a
great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou
shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him
that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
- Church > Mt. 16:18(KJV) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not
prevail against it.
o The blessings came upon the individual b/c they are part of the family
 The Church > HG is ‘spirit of adoption’ ‘children of Abraham’

A few months ago I had the privilege of attending Bro. Kevin’s graduation from the
police academy. During the ceremony one officer would say “ONE FAMILY” and the
whole recruiting class would respond “ONE FIGHT”.

The Bible lets us that as Christians we should be ONENESS:

 - Eph. 4:4-6(KJV) There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called
in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God
and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

WE ARE ONE FAMILY:

- There is power in unity:
o (Gen. 11) The tower of Babel
 Gen. 11:5-6(KJV) And the LORD came down to see the city
and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the
LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one
language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will
be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
 God couldn’t stop an evil/rebellious construction project,
He had to confound the language
- I Cor. 12:12(KJV) For as the body is one, and hath many members, and
all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is
Christ.
o Be the best that you can be & don’t sabotage the rest of the body
 Understand that the devil is always looking to disconnect from
the body

- Mt. 13:28(KJV) He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The
servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
