The indicator words use for warning notices are divided into the categories listed below, according to the
accepted degree of risk involved.
Consciously ignoring these warning notices can result in accidents, serious injuries or death.
Furthermore, serious damage may be caused to the machine and its auxiliary units. The warning notices
below must there be followed without fail!
DANGER!
Indicator word used to denote an immediately hazardous situation which, if not avoided,
will result in serious injury or death.
WARNING!
Indicator word used to denote a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided,
could result in serious injury or death.
CAUTION!
Indicator word used to denote a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided,
could result in slight to moderate injuries.

Fig. 2-17:
This switch sets a rapid feed override in rapid feed mode or reference position return mode.
During automatic measurement, the override is limited to prevent breakage of a probe or stylus if the
probe is hit against the workpiece or the tool is hit against the stylus by accident. (The limitation of the
rapid feed override varies depending on machine models or specifications.)
REMARK If a reference position has not been set after motor replacement, the axis returns to the
reference position at feed rate (0–100%) set in the NC parameter No. 1428 (reference po-
sition return feed rate setting function), irrespective of selected override.
Fig. 2-18:
This switch sets an override for a cutting feed rate specified during automatic operation.
The switch is disabled if the dry run function is selected, and the “Jog Feedrate” switch is enabled instead.
The override is fixed to 100% while a tapping cycle by G84 is in progress or when the feed override func-
tion is disabled by M49.
When M132 is specified, an override is limited to 100% or less.
If an override exceeds 100%, it becomes invalid.
