Focus for discussion: CBAs demonstrate the same decline as the EOCs. The CBAs should
then be considered a predictor for EOC success. We need to improve reading
comprehension and writing fluency based on standards assessed in the CBA.

BREAKDOWN OF DATA
COLLECTED
• When studying this data, it was found that there was no correlation between
Hispanic population growth, ELL students, ED students, or SWD students and lower
assessment scores.
• It was found that the subgroups were performing higher than the majority group.

Focus question: What are we doing with instruction that is increasing a higher
likelihood of proficiency levels for our subgroups? How do we improve reading and
writing comprehension and improve cross disciplinary literacy?

INCREASING LITERACY
SUGGESTION
• Looking at the growth for the ESOL program, it is my suggestion that we incorporate
strategies and supports that are improving literacy within the program into other
classrooms.
• It is also my suggestion that we strategically incorporate assistive technology and
scaffolding into other classrooms, because SWD statistics demonstrate it is
improving learning.

Focus Question: What are some ESOL and/or SWD program

supports you feel have improved instruction in your classroom to
date?
