I. Title: In-Service Trainings for the New Normal in Education

II. Date and Venue: August 3-14, 2020/ Senior High School Building, Lingig NHS

III.Rationale:
The COVID-19 outbreak has caused drastic changes in our daily lives affecting various
sectors like transportation, business and most likely in education. Threats continually heighten
as the cure for this disease is still out of reach that is why people has different viewpoints on
the opening of classes. But despite the contradicting opinions of many, our government
supports the decision of the Department of Education to start the school year 2020-2021 on
August 24 assuring that the health and safety of the learners and the public as a whole is
given top priority without compromising the quality of learning.
Given the present health crisis, the need to overhaul the mechanisms in educational
system has become relatively high. This paves way to the conception of the different ways in
approaching the said ‘new normal’ in education. In order to do so, preparations must be
intensified. This includes the conduct of the different trainings and capacity building seminars
equipping all DepEd personnel for the successful conduct of the classes. Hence, Lingig National
High School as a learning institution, gearing up for the new normal in education, will conduct
series of INSETs reassuring that every personnel is prepared in facilitating its curricular
operations particularly the teaching-learning process in a covid-free mode.
IV. Objectives:
This activity aims to:
a. raise awareness on healthier tips to combat pandemic;
b. develop responsiveness on psychological needs amidst COVID-19 ;
c. gain knowledge on the importance of strong family relationship during health crisis;
d. identify ways addressing moral recovery of teenagers during pandemic;
e. craft supplementary self-learning activities;
f. capacitate teachers on using portfolio predicated from Exemplars (PPE);
g. capacitate teacher on using OERs and other educational softwares;
h. develop skills in using Open Broadcast Software (OBS) and KAHOOT
