At the end of this lesson, the students should be able to:

a. Define the 6 basic skills in basketball,

b. explain the basics of how to stay safe while playing basketball


c. perform the six (6) basic skills in basketball.

Materials: real ball, basketball court, laptop, projector and flash cards

VI. PRACTICE AND DRILL

Have partners assess each other on how well they are performing the cues for the
chest and bounce pass.

VII. EVALUATION

a. Application

 Assist students with maintaining personal space.

 Demonstrate skill when needed.

 Students begin dribbling and moving inside the court area.


 Each student must maintain personal space by keeping his or her head up.

 Start with dominant hand dribble.

 Change to non-dominate hand dribble.

 Give students signal to increase speed (about 1 minute) and then return to walk.

VIII. ASSIGNMENT

1. Research about the basic rules in playing basketball.

2. How can you apply those rules in playing basketball?
