 ABSTRACT

Web development is the work involved in developing a website for

the Internet (World Wide Web) or an intranet (a private network). Web
development can range from developing a simple single static page of plain text to
complex web applications, electronic businesses, and social network services. A
more comprehensive list of tasks to which Web development commonly refers,
may include Web engineering, Web design, Web content development, client
liaison, client-side/server-side scripting, Web server and network
security configuration, and e-commerce development.

Among Web professionals, "Web development" usually refers to the main non-
design aspects of building Web sites: writing markup and coding. Web
development may use content management systems (CMS) to make content
changes easier and available with basic technical skills.

For larger organizations and businesses, Web development teams can consist of
hundreds of people (Web developers) and follow standard methods like Agile
methodologies while developing Web sites.

Web Development Scope-

The technologies that power the bespoke web software domain represent the future
of web development. PWA, SPA, serverless architecture, and Motion UI will be
particularly prominent web trends in 2022 and beyond. General technology, such
as AI, voice search, Blockchain, and IoT will continue as web trend for the next
decade.

 INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS WEB DEVELOPMENT
Web development refers to the building, creating, and maintaining of websites.
It includes aspects such as web design, web publishing, web programming,
and database management.
It is the creation of an application that works over the internet i.e. websites.

GOAL OF THIS PROJECT

As digitalization is getting embedded in every sector. Food delivery system has
become an integrated part for the restaurants and cafes across the world and
hence we as a team have decided to develop a website for Food ordering,
booking and delivery system where the admin will have access to view the
orders, add new food items and manipulate the database..

WORKING OF THE PROJECT

HTML

HTML is an acronym which stands for Hyper Text Markup Language which is

used for creating web pages and web applications. Let's see what is meant by
Hypertext Markup Language, and Web page.

Hyper Text: HyperText simply means "Text within Text." A text has a link within
it, is a hypertext. Whenever you click on a link which brings you to a new
webpage, you have clicked on a hypertext. HyperText is a way to link two or more
web pages (HTML documents) with each other.

1. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets
2. CSS describes how HTML elements are to be displayed on screen, paper,
or in other media
3. CSS saves a lot of work. It can control the layout of multiple web pages all
at once
4. External stylesheets are stored in CSS files

JAVASCRIPT
JavaScript is a scripting or programming language that allows you to implement
complex features on web pages — every time a web page does more than just sit
there and display static information for you to look at — displaying timely
content updates, interactive maps, animated 2D/3D graphics, scrolling video
jukeboxes, etc. — you can bet that JavaScript is probably involved. It is the third
layer of the layer cake of standard web technologies, two of which
(HTML and CSS) we have covered in much more detail in other parts of the
Learning Area.

Web Dev and PHP

PHP is a common open-source scripting language popular for web applications.

Although it originally stood for “personal home page,” PHP is now a recursive
acronym for “hypertext preprocessor” — but chances are you’ll never hear that
name again.
In its simplest form, PHP is a server-side scripting language that is embedded in
HTML. PHP allows web developers to create dynamic content and to interact with

databases. PHP is known for its simplicity, speed, and flexibility — features which
have made it a cornerstone in the web development world.
PHP is used by 79.1% of all websites with known server-side programming, and
its use has been on the rise in the last decade, up from 72% in 2010. 

Application Area in Education

1. Facilitation of a comprehensive understanding of the subject-matter through

interactive learning techniques such as videos, audios, etc
2. The ease of learning anywhere and everywhere.
3. Cost-efficient, as a lot of websites offer free learning content.
4. Content is regularly updated. So children, teachers as well as parents always
look at and learn updated information.
5. People can refer to multiple websites at the same time. So here, there’s an
opportunity for additional learning and references.

Application

The application of our project will be to help restaurants to list up their menu on
our website and help their business to grow rapidly as more and more people
prefer getting their food delivered through online platforms. The website will have
an easy to user interface to increase engagement .

 CONCLUSION AND FUTURE WORK

Summary

In today's Web development, a good page design is essential. A bad design will
lead to the loss of visitors and that can lead to a loss of business. In general, a
good page layout has to satisfy the basic elements of a good page design. This
includes color contrast, text organization, font selection, style of a page, page
size, graphics used, and consistency. In order to create a well-designed page for
a specific audience. The developer needs to organized and analyze the users'
statistics and the background of the users. Although it can be hard to come up
with a design that is well suited to all of the users, there will be a design that is
appropriate for most of the audience. The better the page design, the more hits a
page will get. That implies an increase in accessibility and a possible increase in
business.

Recommendation

After analyzing all the researched information and feedback from different
users, I would recommend that a general purposed Web site should use non-
frame pages and graphics navigation bar with rollover effects. In addition to the
graphic navigation bar with rollover effects, each page should also have a text-
only navigation bar for easy control. The developer should also create a
Cascading Style Sheet to control the font and font-size and use the style sheet
throughout the site to obtain a consistent look and feel.
