Now you maybe wondering why I’ve chose this topic instead of choosing
something different. That leads us to the question, What is the importance of
doing this research?

As we are in the middle of the pandemic it is important that we find ways on how to manage essentials.
One is education. And so, here comes the role of the distance learning. For us who are living here in
Pangasinan, modular learning is the modality that is best to offer without the challenge of internet
connection, availability of gadget, low signal, and other problems present in online learning . going back
to our question What is the importance of doing this research?

Since this is the first time in a long time that Philippines has
experience pandemic we cannot deny the fact that we are not ready.
The educational system is not ready. And since I am a student who
directly experience the effects of modular learning, I wanted to
impart my knowledge and ability on how we can somewhat ease the burden
of studying through modular print by understanding the problem which
is to identify the “Factors Affecting Modular Learning of High School
Students in Saint Rose Academy of San Quintin, Inc.”. and to give
possible solutions to address these problems.

Let’s answer the questions!

The table presents the percentage of the ages of the respondents.

The reveals that majority of the respondents are 16 years old

with a percentage of 35%.

The table shows the percentage of the gender of the respondents.

It is evident in the table that 50% of the respondents are female

and 50% are male.

The next slides will be the answer to the question #2 2. What are the common factors that affects
students in learning using modular learning?

. Too much load of tasks at home is found to be a hindrance for

the respondents. As a result, the students tend to rush, cramp

and produce low quality outputs that affect their learning and

performance. Assigning learners regular chores at home helps

teach them responsibility. Tasks that personally affect the

children, such as cleaning their room or doing their own laundry,

can help them become more self-reliant at the same time. However,

like in anything, too much is not good ang inappropriate and can

led to unpleasant outcomes. As for the respondents, too much

chores affect their learning and studying at home using modular

approach.

On the other hand, “untidy environment” garnered the lowest

percentage of 15.00, as one of the many factors affecting

student’s learning. Environment is indeed a factor that affects

learning specially that students spent the entire day inside

their homes.

This study further revealed that that internal factor “lack of

motivation” garnering 75 percent also affects most of the

respondents in learning through modular print. Without motivation

or support coming from family members, friends, teachers, and

fellow learners studying can be difficult and uninteresting. As a

result, the students would provide lesser attention in studying.

Motivation has a great impact on the learning process. Motivation

alone can determine if the person will pass or fail. While some
people learn more by outside influences, others may achieve more

by their personal aspirations. Whatever the situation, everyone

involved in any learning process should know how motivation

affects learning. Motivation uplifts student’s enthusiasm about

the activities presented to them. Once they get motivated to

achieve something by doing the tasks, they will eventually exert

their full effort, time, and energy. In this way, they become

determined or persistent in accomplishing things even if these

are not of their interest. This will also determine if they are

pursuing such tasks on a voluntary or on a compulsory basis.

Contrastingly, the least internal factor affecting students in

learning is the feeling of “heart-broken” garnering the

percentage of 20.00. It only indicates that the respondents do

not focus much on their love life and give more attention in

other matters.

Now let’s find out if “3. Is there a significant relationship

between the gender and the factors affecting High School students of

Saint Rose Academy of San Quintin, Inc. in learning using Modular

Print?

Data in the table 3 displays the significant relationship between

the gender and the factors affecting High School students of

Saint Rose Academy of San Quintin, Inc. in learning using Modular

Print. It reveals that there is a total of 6.71 in Female, 6.74

in Male and a total of 13.45 in the overall chi-square result.

The equivalence of degree of freedom is 9.49 which the researcher

adopted from chi-square table, which means the chi-square result

(13.45) is greater than the equivalence of degree of freedom

(9.49). Therefore, the researcher accepts the null hypothesis. It

can be concluded that there is no significant relationship

between the gender and the factors affecting High School students

of Saint Rose Academy of San Quintin, Inc. in learning using

Modular Print. It only means that the gender of the students does

not contribute the factors affecting High School students.

Having all the data I needed. The last step leads us to last

question. 4. What are the proposed solutions to improve the learning

of High School students of Saint Rose Academy of San Quintin, Inc. in

learning using Modular Print?

1. Managed Time.
 Plan ahead! Plan your activities for the whole day. It

would be better if there is a schedule for all activities

in the morning and evening to keep your track. Setting

things ahead will make you be more focused on things you

should be doing. You may write down checklist of your

tasks for the whole day.

2. Use “body-system”.

Try to find someone who will do the same activities or

someone who will keep you reminded. You may also ask help

from these people to help you finish scheduled tasks like

household chores to hit your target and time allotment

for each task.

3. Set goals and motivate yourself.

Be ready to fail at first, but as time passes by, you’ll

be able succeed. Giving yourself a reward will also give

a big help. Parents may give reward or simple token to

motivate their children in being responsible and going to

school on time.

4. Be resourceful.

When some concepts are confusing, try to ask help from

your teacher, parents, and other people who may help you.
 You may also try researching on the internet to broaden

your knowledge and understanding.

As we aspire for change and greatness, we must now forget the

pros and cons of these steps. I am truly honored to impart a

study that is timely and relevant. I hope that with this I am

able to contribute to the change that this nation needed. Thank
