Deforestation as urgency

Deforestation  soil erosion  loss of topsoil  infertility

 water pollution (soil washed into water bodies)

Deforestation  production carbon dioxide  greenhouse gas  global

warming

Deforestation  less trees and plants  less oxygen in the air (and there are less
plants to photosynthesize to take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen) 
greenhouse effect  global warming

Deforestation  removes wildlife habitats  animals have no shelter and no

food (for herbivores)  death of certain animals  loss of biodiversity 
endangerment and extinction

Deforestation  removes plants that may have medicinal value  loss of

pharmaceutical ingredients

Hence, as deforestation can cause negative effects to the environment, people

and animals directly, it is one of immediate concern and should be reduced. It is
not possible to eliminate deforestation but alleviation will help.
