The Importance of Wisdom in A Pandemic
The Importance of Wisdom in A Pandemic
The Importance of Wisdom in A Pandemic
Proverbs 3: 1-12
We have is just one pail of water and a water pump. We need more water and the water
pump just won’t work, it doesn’t pump water out. What do we do?
If we have knowledge about how the water pump works, that is not enough. We can
explain the mechanical function of the pump and water dynamics and even gravity but
these explanation cannot give us water.
What we will do, because we know how the water pump works, we will pour the
remaining pail of water to the water pump and behold, we have lots of water. This is
wisdom.
Pouring the pail of water to the water pump may be foolish to some people, for them it
may be a waste, but when you have wisdom, it works.
I observe that wisdom and knowledge are not the same thing. Knowledge is acquired
information. Wisdom is applied knowledge.
According to the Bible record, King Solomon was asked by God in a dream to ask
whatever he wants and God will give it to him. Solomon asked for understanding or
wisdom to rule his people. God was pleased and granted his request and gave him
bonuses for the right thing to ask: popularity and wealth.
In Proverbs Chapter 3, Solomon wanted to impart wisdom to his children. Try to imagine
sitting at the feet of Solomon as he imparts wisdom by inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
The Wisdom Books speak the voice of experience, and is not a dogma or absolute but
happens most of the time. It is for our advantage if we heed these observations.
[How blessed many lives would be if people implemented these "Six Keys
