Introduction
For over 20 years I have made a living running classroom based courses in
Oracle (Linux and UNIX), the most popular being Oracle SQL and PLSQL.
However, COVID19 put an end to that.

I’ve now decided to share my expertise in a set of live training sessions . This
online training is based on the notes I have written and updated over the years.

This 3 day course will run as a set of short 3 hour sessions, 6 in all totalling 18
hours, and will be accompanied by a PDF set of the course notes.

There are three simple ways of accessing Oracle for the course:

• use your own Oracle database server

• access a supplied Oracle 11g database via Cloud Clusters

• download and Install a Virtual Box appliance or VM running Oracle 19c

Although the notes were written for the classroom, this should make little
difference. In the sessions I will show you how to use the software in much the
same way as I would in the classroom.

Prerequisite
The course is suitable for those who have some knowledge of SQL as well as
those who are using Oracle for the first time. Previous experience with an
interactive computer system is desirable but not essential.

Sample Courseware
To give you an idea of how my courses run I’m supplying my Linux
Fundamentals course material for free.

All the PDF files for the course are available to browse or download from the
folder Introduction here.

Accompanying videos, with optional automatically generated captions or sub-

titles, are available from the playlist Introduction on my YouTube channel here.

Start Time
I am based in the UK and the start time will be affected by time zones. I hope to
run several sessions with the following local start times of 18:00 and actual start
times of:

• US West Coast 01:00 GMT

• US Central 00:00 GMT

• US East Coast 23:00 GMT

• Europe 18:00 GMT

• IST 14:00 GMT

This 3 day course will use the same start times.

Cost
The actual cost of classroom and online training for Linux and Oracle in the UK
is very high. For a course for up to 12 delegates a training company such as QA
or Stayahead will charge between £800 and £1,200 per day.

I cover the same material on my courses as in this course from QA.

The training offered here gives you a substantial discount on the usual cost of
the course.

This 3 day course will run as a set of six 3 hour sessions, 18 hours in all.

I am charging just £5 per session, so the total cost of the 3 day course over 6
sessions is £30.

Contact
I arrange my courses via email rather than WhatsAPP or Messenger.
