PNS ON PACKAGING AND PACKAGING MATERIALS

The Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS)

informs all concerned sectors that the following International Standards of the
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) were adopted and approved as
Philippine National Standards (PNS) by the BPS thru the recommendation of the
Technical Committee on Packaging and Packaging Materials (BPS/TC 40) and its Sub-
committee on paper packaging (BPS/TC 40/SC 2):

• PNS ISO 13355:2019 Packaging – Complete, filled transport packages and unit
loads – Vertical random vibration test
• PNS ISO 8318:2019 Packaging – Complete, filled transport packages and unit
loads – Sinusoidal vibration tests using a variable frequency
• PNS ISO 2875:2019 Packaging – Complete, filled transport packages and unit
loads – Water-spray test
• PNS ISO 17351:2019 Packaging – Braille on packaging for medicinal products
• PNS ISO 18616-1:2019 Transport packaging – Reusable, rigid plastic distribution
boxes—Part 1: General purpose application
• PNS ISO 18616-2:2019 Transport packaging—Reusable, rigid, plastic distribution
boxes—Part 2: General specifications for testing
• PNS ISO 19809:2019 Packaging – Accessible design – Information and marking
• PNS ISO 21067-1:2019 Packaging – Vocabulary – Part 1: General Items
• PNS ASTM D5168:2019 Standard Practice for fabrication and closure of triple-wall
corrugated fiberboard containers
• PNS ASTM D6804:2019 Standard Guide for Hand Hole Design in Corrugated
Boxes
• PNS ASTM D1974/D1974M:2019 Standard Practice for Methods of Closing,
Sealing and Reinforcing Fiberboard Boxes

packaging and packaging materials industry. These standards will contribute to the
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
