TIME FOR A
30 MINUTE BREAK!
Eat your snack, have a run around!
WRITING
Learning Intention: I will be able to write and follow a set of instructions.
Success Criteria:
- I can write a list of equipment needed.
- I can organise my instructions in chronological order.
- I can write a clear set of instructions for my procedure text
- I can revise and edit my work.
Procedure Text
Today you are going to write a procedure text on how to
make pancakes!
While you are watching, take note of the recipe and steps.
Success Criteria:
- I can understand that each digit in a number is an important place holder.
- I can name and identify each of the places in a number
- I can write, record and say numbers to the tens of thousands and beyond.
Place Value
Place value is the value of each digit in a number. For example, the 5 in 350 represents
5 tens, or 50; however, the 5 in 5,006 represents 5 thousands, or 5,000. It is important
that children understand that whilst a digit can be the same, its value depends on
where it is in the number.
